    mystical symbol in database

    Hello. Can you tell why do I sometimes get an error symbol like this: in a text, which I have written in a database. = . I'm using utf8 charset in my page. So maybe I have to tell database that it's utf8 or something like that?

    Yes, you do. The database connection, the database, and in recent versions of mysql, the table and columns all have their own character encoding settings you can change.

    It's also displayed in text, which I have selected from the database. Maybe I should use this:

    PHP Code:
    mysql_query("SET NAMES `utf8`");
