    good? pop-up pop-under

There is a reason pop-up blockers are so popular. If you present a link, users can open it in a new tab/window if they want to. If you do use them, at least be courteous enough to alert them that it opens a new window. IMHO the only good pop-up I have seen to-date is the "catfish" like the one used here at Sitepoint. It's unobtrusive, not obnoxious, and can be easily closed. http://www.sitepoint.com/blogs/2005/...atfish-part-1/

In fact, if it did bother me I would try to find a way to disable it like I have others http://www.mittineague.com/dev/nopopuplinks.user.js

Even if I knew how to do it, I don't think I would help you, since I'm afraid pop-ups and pop-unders are the scum of the internet (along with spam of course).

    too much?

A 2 page tutorial too much? I've read through dozens of files of script just to get familiar with an app. Tutorial articles are "light pleasure" reading for me.
Seriously though, If you're looking for copy-paste code, there are lots of script repository sites out there. Take Raffles advice and for the phrase - pop-up script - I'm sure you'll find more than enough examples. If you want help with a particular bit of code you're working with, post at least a snippet of it. The javascript forum is for serious posts. If you want to start a debate over pop-ups, the "general chat" forum is where to post. And lastly, if you just want people to "give you the code" and "do your work for you" best of luck.

I feel the same way about pop-ups as Raffles and the vast majority of users. That's why I wrote a GreaseMonkey userscript that can disable all javascript pop-ups. So when I recommend the "catfish" you can take my word for it, it's the way to go.

    new window

The best way to do it so that it won't be blocked by pop-up blockers is to not use javascript, but the link attribute "target". eg.
    HTML Code:
    <a href="new_page.html" target="_blank">New Page</a>(opens new window)
