Hi, I just downloaded the phpBB (newest version) from www.phpBB.com and just don't have a clue where to start. What website provider should I use and what parts should I edit, with what, and how?

you need a host that offers php and mysql.

what files you need to edit are in the documentation.

Installing it only takes a few minutes usually.

config.php seems extremely difficult to me. Will the forum work if I just upload it in it's original state? Also, do you know of any good mySQL and PHP providers?

If you just want to test it you can install PHP and MySQL on your computer. Take a look at PHPTriad (for Windows) at http://www.phpgeek.com
