    Shopping Cart Software

Hi all, I've been looking around for shopping cart software and was wondering if any of you had any reccomendations.

    Specs:

I have a client who has a collection of PDF buisness documents. They would like a facility where these documents could be purchased online and then emailled to the customer.

Any ideas on software that has these capabilities?? I'm having trouble finding something that has the email functionality...

    Thanks in advance!

What about an auto-responder? I set something up like this for one client. After the payment is processed an e-mail is sent from the customer to the owner. This activates the auto-responder & the PDF document is attached.

That could definately handle the email problem.. but I'm still unsure of what shopping cart system to use. The client's web hosting provider offers a shopping cart system.. but they 'don't like the look of it' and would like something more customisable.

Most cart systems can be purchased from overseas, are there any good Australian ones by any chance?

What OS? If it is UNIX: check out OS Commerce. If it is Windows, I have one here: https://ssl29.securedata.net/merchantaccounts4le/test/ which might do the trick.

I'm trying to find out what OS it actually is... it's not listed on the hosts website anywhere! It think it may be UNIX, so I'll have a look at OS Commerce.

Thanks for all your help so far Corey!

If it is the same one that http://www.citara.com.au is on - yes, it is UNIX. You can also check out: http://news.netcraft.com/ to help you determine. Just enter the domain name in the input under the webserver search.

Thanks for the link! citara.com.au is my own site and is definately running on good old unix

    I've discovered they're running on Windows 2000, Microsoft-IIS/5.0.

That should narrow down the search just a bit.

Glad that I could help. You can - rather they can use ASP on there as well. I would assume since your hosting company offers OS commerce, they do offer PHP / MySQL but I have noticed some hosting companies charge extra for MySQL on a Windows platform. You might want to verify with them.
