In late December 2010 and early January 2011, significant flooding devastated many areas of Queensland, Australia. Three quarters of the state was declared a disaster zone, with hundreds of thousands affected.
The team at SitePoint has family and friends directly impacted by this tragedy and wanted to help. So, earlier this month, we organized a fundraiser to raise funds for The Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal, with 100% of the proceeds donated to this charity.
For three days, three of our best selling books were offered at 80% off.
Thousands of you participated, and we are delighted to announce that we raised close to $30,000 which will be distributed to the people affected by this natural disaster.
We are so grateful for the generosity shown by the SitePoint community and were amazed at all your support and well wishes to the victims.
