Looking for a CMS Solution

Hi there
Was recently approached to create a site that ranks articles… but I’m trying to figure out the best solution for it.

Most of my experience has been with wordpress… but wondering if there are others out there that would make this easier.

It’s sort of Digg like where users submit articles and the users vote on them. The one with the most votes for the week becomes the “article of the week” and is posted on the main page.

I know this could be done with WP using plugins. But I also know there are CMS like Pligg that would help make this easier.

Thoughts?

If you are comfortable with WP you should stick with it. I prefer Drupal for a cms personally.

I won’t prefer Plig. I don’t think plig can do your needs. Try Wordpress, it is the best.

Here’s an article by Chandra of redfoxmagazine (redfoxmagazinedotcom/best-26-cms-solutions/) describing 26 CMS solutions. Although the write-up is particularly on how the solutions can make your blogs different, just explore the given links and hopefully, they’ll lead you to what you need.

IMO, wordpress is the best one that suits everyone’s requirements… As we know that wordpress is the only solution that is user friendly and at a same time, a countless number of plugins are available for making each and every task go easier. As it is search engine friendly, it never takes time to generate targeted traffic from search engines…

I agree. Wordpress is the best CMS I know so far. It’s search engine friendly and very manageable. Cool designs can be downloaded for free in the internet.

I just found this forum… It is very interesting and helpful. I am looking at installing a CMS on a website that is existing and built using PHP.

I am looking at Cube Scripts - Instant Update.

Can someone give me an honest assessment on the simplicity and ease of use?

I would appreciate it wholeheartedly.

Thx

I have been using WP and I prefer using it for the rest of the sites I work with. I wonder about Drupal - because I am not familiar with the platform.

Just want to let you know that I love WP. BUT my site is already up and running and was built on a php platform. I want a CMS that can take a php site and make it easy to edit.

Thx for the feedback.
