How to Promote a Single Page Website and Blog

Many single page website are promote in various strategy . so which strategy is beneficial in current search engine response page.

Hi @Global_Scope, and welcome to the forums.

Perhaps you could explain why you think there is a difference in the techniques you would use for a single-page site, compared with a multi-page site?

To all posters:
We already have many threads offering advice on promoting a site, and we don’t need to duplicate those. Please confine any advice offered to the specific situation of a single-page site. General replies will be removed as fluff.

Most website owner now a days utilize the power of the social network. Some site considers it there main promotional platform to promote there single page website or post. I tried joining the bandwagon but I can not keep up so I automate the process by using the automation free software Hootesuite to make the job of promotion less of a pain.

Why? What are the specific challenges of promoting a single page site? What makes it different to other kinds of sites in terms of promotion?

Hm… You should do keyword research and target those KWs what are specific for you business and can presumably bring you the most conversion… Than optimise your landing page according to the leas SEO requirements and then you should develop your link building strategy… If you have more questions - ask me

It is very hard to promote a single page website. Yes, you may have conducted a keyword research, Framed your content around those keyword and promoted your single page website afterwards. But you soon will discover that your single page website does not even appear on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or even 4th page of the search engine results page.
Why did that happen you may ask? Your research will soon lead you to discover that certain factors are keeping your single site website from ranking. You may soon discover that Google gives search ranking boost to regularly updated website. A single Page Website is rarely updated right because it is just one page. The amount of time your site visitor is one factor that will rank your site higher in the SERP, but how will a site visitor stay longer in your site when in fact you only have a single page website. Bounce rate will be high for a single page website right. You are aware that high bounce rate may cause your site to rank lower. There are a lot of other factors which make it difficult to rank a single page website.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with those statements. How do you imagine search engines would even have access to that data? And if you’re going to say that Google uses information from Analytics, then Matt Cutts can put you straight there.

Bounce rate will be not high for a single page website right - it will be 100% as Google concider the bounce if:

  1. Player stay on your page the time less that you setted as the minimal.
  2. By default Google cinciders the as the bounce if user looks only 1 page…

So I think to create such site is meaningless. You can add there contact page + lead blog and each page will be indexed… So the site will uload each time.

There are many ways but mostly used the SEO off page techniques to promote a single page Website and Blog. It includes forum posting, blog commenting, social media marketing, business directories etc. I can also use these techniques to rank higher my website on google.

These activities, if used for the purpose of promoting your site, will not help.

Any reputable forum or blog will mark external links as “nofollow”, so they will not help you rank on search engines. You also run the risk of falling foul of Google’s guidelines on link schemes, and having your site penalised as a result.

Additionally, creating links that weren’t editorially placed or vouched for by the site’s owner on a page, otherwise known as unnatural links, can be considered a violation of our guidelines.[/quote]

And, of course, you risk having your comments deleted and possibly being banned from the site.

If you are commenting or posting with the intention of adding something interesting to a discussion, then people reading your contributions may be interested in learning more about you and follow your links, thus bringing you some traffic. But this relies on high-quality posts, not posts clearly made for promotional purposes.

I am in the same situation that you are in and I think the way to do it is to dynamically create sitemaps that crawlers can use to find your content.

Your title is confusing, do you mean a blog site with a single page? Do you intend to keep appending separate blogs to the same page? Or maybe inserting the latest blog to the top of the page? Either way users will soon be overwhelmed by the single page layout.

I think it is important to mention that SEO rankings can be halved if a single page has a www prefix and points to the same page content without the prefix. They are considered as two separate URLs.

If a page is lengthy it may be beneficial to include a $GET reference to jump to a specific part of the lengthy page. An example is in the link at the top right-hand of this post. Perhaps splitting the page will produce numerous SEO pages in the search engine results.

How does Bounce Rate being at 100%, a statistic which as clearly stated, has zero effect on ranking, render a site meaningless?
I think it actually means that the statistic is meaningless to a single page site, due to how it is calculated.

How would a sitemap help a single page site?
