First impression - Design

Hello,
May I ask what first impression the site gives you. Are there hints for a better usability?
We changed the user interface often. We have made a variety of eye-catching tests.
We are constantly working on the design and evaluate user interactions.
Most of the works are being carried out on the content. I am responsible for that matter, and guess / need feedback.

indivstock is selling Royalty-Free photos and graphics.

You have some words? Some Ideas? Is there something you like or don`t like?
Thank you for all your feedback.

Not bad overall. Some personal opinions.

First page…

  1. I REALLY dislike the white on the green banners. The Login & Download isn’t too bad, but I think it’s because the font is larger.
  2. The content in the stock photos for tv… div either needs to be top aligned or (preferably) vertically centered. It looks REALLY odd being bottom aligned like that.
  3. Your text alignment on the “Sign Up For Free” button shifts on hover - I like the centered that the hovered has, but pick one.
  4. Is there a better way to do the “60 images $27.60” text? Something there seems off.
  5. Tag line for your header - either capitalize download or don’t capitalize Stock Photos. Looks odd that way.
  6. Your FB login button and Language indicator don’t look like they are vertically centered like the rest of the items in the header.
  7. The h6 elements in the footer are essentially unreadable. Same for your copyright.
  8. Overall, it seems like there is a LOT of negative space, and what content is there is vertically aligned oddly. There are text elements in multiple columns which aren’t lining up, and things which look like they should be centered which aren’t.

Second page…

  1. Ugh. I dislike that the header changes that much from the main page to this one. I hate that grey background, the search bar needs to be separated from the logo a little, and the language selection is even further out of vertical alignment here.
  2. Your dropdowns could use some labels with them. Yes, you can figure out what they are, but it’s nice not to have to guess.
  3. THANK YOU for giving the choice of the normal grid and the “flickr” style crap grid - I know it’s popular, but I can’t stand it.
  4. What are the color blocks on the left supposed to do? Doesn’t seem like they do anything…
  5. I think I’d prefer the preview to show on click instead of hover, but that’s not a major thing, just a usability thing - perhaps it could have a choice like with the grid style?
  6. Is the copyright being below the footer? It looks like it is, even if it’s not.

I like your design however i think the color can be improved. Somehow colors doesn’t match well but honestly I’m not good on colors too so maybe others will have better idea.

I agree with @viombadesign that you definetly need to work on the colors. Checkout the top 10 stock photo sites and see what colors they have used and in what proportion.

Ugh. Please don’t. There’s nothing wrong with being different. Granted these colors might be a little harsh, but just copying someone else’s look isn’t necessary.

Sorry I wasn’t clear, I wasn’t suggesting to copy anyone. I only meant for inspiration and getting some sort of idea of creating a color pallet for consistency and overall look and feel. You can definitely use any color but as you know there is a whole science behind picking colors. You can always go to www.colourlovers.com to get some already made pallet that works for you. I hope I clarified, Cheers
