Can someone help me about this template design?

hi
this is my sample design.please if there is a problem(font, partitioning, style and …),you guide me for my improvement work.
thank you.

Welcome to the forums, @Toto_Sfdgrhr.

I always find it hard to comment on an image; I really need to see how it works in practice in a browser. (But that’s just me; others may feel differently.)

However, your image is so small that I can’t read the text or see the font to comment. My first impression is that there seems to be an awful lot of space taken up with seemingly-meaningless images, and very little actual content.

Perhaps you could explain a bit more about the design. What is the purpose of the site? Who is its intended audience? Can you describe what each section of the design is for? With more information, we might be able to give you more helpful feedback.

Agree, the background is too vivid and distracts attention from the content. And if the menu is represented only by icons it may lead to some doubts as user has to spend some time to understand what they stand for.

90% from my work is complete.
please guide me if that has a problem.
this theme is for business , shop or hardware company.
is it better Than before?
size this picture is large for recognition font and detail.
thank you very much.

There’s nothing really wrong with it, but that seems a very vague and general classification, so it’s difficult to say how well it would work for a particular business.

It still seems to me to be rather heavy on images, with not much space for “real” content. I know it’s fashionable at the moment to place text over background images, but I find that often makes the text really hard to read.

As I said before, I find it hard to give useful feedback on an image; I really need to see how the different elements behave on a “live” page. You haven’t provided much detail to help with that. Hopefully others will be able to provide more feedback.

thanks for your help
but this is a PSD file
I don’t have relevant code to this PSD file until show for you.
I think or my idea this is the first the draw of a sample shape from partitioning template then put that here for checking and review.

Don’t hold your breath. :mask:

You’ll probably have to wait another 23 days for that to materialise. :scream:

I’ll try to keep the feedback generalized since this is not intended for a specific company with a specific audience or goal. I’ll also just start from the top and work my way down the design.

Disclaimer:
My goal is to provide as much valuable feed back as possible, which means I tend write nearly everything I see. It doesn’t mean that I’m right about every thing I see.

Section 1 with “Hardware” heading:

  • The keyboard image in the background is distracting. Someone else touched on the fact that using large background images is popular right now and that’s true, but they usually blur the entire image or mask it with a color. Since only the center is blurred, the unblurred parts to the left and right are pulling attention away from the content and make the section feel noisy.
  • The main navigation could use some work.
  • The text is small and really close to the icons which makes it difficult to quickly read.
  • The space on top of the icons and below the text is uneven.
  • “Items” seems like it would only work for a small number of businesses or services. You could potentially appeal to more buyers by changing it to something like products.
  • The icon for clients doesn’t seem to match. I would think that icon represents assistance/support.
  • With so much going on, and so many elements fighting for the users attention, I don’t think the added complexity of having icons is necessary.
  • The “Hardware” main heading looks like Microsoft word art. I would simplify it or look up some more contemporary heading styles. Maybe like the one from the first design.
  • Side margins are small compared to spacing between the text and image. White space in the middle of a page without purpose can attract a user’s eyes and give the user and uneasy feeling.

Section 2 with the product boxes:

  • Floating section over the products. Looks like you forgot to turn off a layer when you saved the file because there is a section with the intel picture on top of the products.
  • The products from what I could tell in the first design looked good.
  • Yellow border at the bottom of the section is not necessary. The varying backgrounds and white space are enough to separate the sections.

Section 3 with the image of the lady:

  • The image is distracting. Avoid using images of people staring right at the camera. Humans are programmed to recognize faces and when something is staring at you. It goes back to our days or spotting predators or potential threats. So your eye is drawn to her instead of the content.
  • Having the image continue outside the boxes is inconsistent with the top section and just adds more unnecessary noise to the page.
  • The pagination is easily mistaken for just a stylized border. If the sections are meant to slide vertically and you want to have the pagination vertical, maybe remove the yellow background and just use a yellow circle for the active section/slide. Having the numbers floating free on the white background will make it easier to quickly scan the section and understand that it’s a slider/slideshow and the pagination is on the left.
  • The button is inconsistent with the first section which is all caps.

Section 4 with the boxed images:

  • It’s not clear why the images are here. Are they links? Where do they go? Why should I click on them?

Section 5 with the laptops:

  • More products? There was already a product section at the top so it’s not clear why there is a second one or why they are displayed differently than the first section.
  • Pagination is awkwardly placed and doesn’t match the style of the rest of the design. Being in the middle of the section like this without any margin around it makes it the central point of focus. The gradient style also differs from the rest of the design which is mostly flat.
  • The content in the boxes could use some work.
  • The content is pretty small.
  • The white heading is hard to read against the light gray background.
  • The light gray cart is also faint against the white background.
  • The position of the content is inconsistent. You’ve flipped the content and image on the left and right sides, which might work, but it is more common to make the layout of each box consistent for the user.
  • I don’t think there is a need for the gray box around the content. The content and image are already inside of a box, so why add another box inside the box? Also the spacing between the edge of the outer box and the gray box is inconsistent with the image’s spacing.
  • Yellow border at the bottom of the section is not necessary. The varying backgrounds and white space are enough to separate the sections.

Section 6 with the affiliate programs:

  • The images faded outside of the shape makes it hard to read the content. I would restrict the image to the only show inside the shape if you intend to use that shape. for the same reasons I talked about in section 3.
  • The space between each column is inconsistent and small.

Last section

  • Same feedback on the background as the first section.
  • The menu is really close the the 6th section, but has a lot of space under it.
  • Why is sign in outside of the menu here and where is news?
  • Same feedback as the first section about the left and right margins compared to the white space in the middle.
  • The form is missing labels

in this time i do three poster design and icon and complete this template.
but Do you see footer and header is bad ?
Do you see slider design is bad ?
Is flat design standards were not met ?

In this time I did three posters design and icons design and this template completed.
How did you see footer and header?
How did you see Slider Design?
Have flat Design standards been observed in this Design?
Thank you.

You answered to the 26 days ago @rday26 thorough feedback and it looks like you noticed some of his points.

I agree with @rday26 on all his points.

I too wonder what purpose the “Santa Cruz” overlay has, why is it covering the $600/day boxes? Is this the"Slider Design" you ask how it is seen?

The "Software CPUs … " row, is it a menu and, if so, what section of the page does it belong to?

The “Featured products” seems to have “Add to cart” buttons but no “Detail” buttons like the $600/Day boxes. Does anyone really buy anything by just looking at an image with some sale pitch and a price tag?

I assumed this was a one page layout as it isn’t divided in any way, please tell if the template shows more than one page.

When you say you did three posters, are they parts of the image you linked to?

I did see the footer but I couldn’t see the header, am I misunderstanding the whole thing?

PLease respond to the feedback @rday26 posted!

“I too wonder what purpose the “Santa Cruz” overlay has, why is it covering the $600/day boxes?”
-this is sample text.
“I assumed this was a one page layout as it isn’t divided in any way”
-this is a one page.
“When you say you did three posters, are they parts of the image you linked to?”
-No , there are not any posters in template.you ignore this line.
" Is this the"Slider Design" you ask how it is seen?"
-yes
“I did see the footer but I couldn’t see the header, am I misunderstanding the whole thing?”
-Below the top menu

That helped a little, but I’m still confused.

For instance; the “Slider Design” doesn’t make much sense, is the “Santa Cruz” overlay and image the slide and the covered items the thumbnails to control the slide?

Can you please spend some time to elaborate your vision and make a post that explains what the different parts of the template is, and how it is supposed to work or be used by the visitor?

Then I’ll consider how I can be of any help to you.

this is only psd file and this is not web online.
this is PSD eCommerce Templates for hardware.

excuse me my english is bad

We understand that.

That is why we are asking you to explain more clearly what each section of your design is for, because we cannot interact with it ourselves.

In particular, you keep referring to the “slider design”, but because it is just a static image, we do not know which part is the slider, or what content it is intended to display.

Of course you are exused not being a native English user.

Take the help Google offers with their translate service: https://translate.google.com/#auto/en/

Write the explaining in your language using a text editor and then paste it in the translate text field. Fix the errors you see so we can read and understand what you want to say.

Now please take some time and write down how we should understand the template parts.

Ok I explain about slider design.
In below header section there is a Image Slider.
In image slider there is a big photo and 3 small photo in bottom image slider. when user click on this 3 bottom image, big image chenged.

in below image slider there are 4 parts.
-submenu Includes tools
-featured products
-Latest Products
-and footer website footer
Corresponding explanations is sample text.
 it is good?

Ok, that is how an ordinary slider works. Thanks.

My view of the slider as a user is:
Instead of clicking the small images I wonder why they are covered by a larger image. Then I recognize the part of the first small image is displayed in the large image. Now I think there is someting wrong, why are the small images not visible, am I expected to explore what they are by clicking on them. - Now I starting to loose trust in this site, is this slider intended to be so confusing?

Now what more is there, a row with categories, what should I expect if I click on one of them?
Will the Featured Products below be showing samples in the category I click on, or will it take me somewhere else?

Do you see that you need to explain the different parts in the template in many more words?
I don’t like to guess what vision you have with your template!
