It is said that Blogging helps you establish trust with potential clients while also promoting your goods and services and increasing website traffic. I want to learn the importance to promote my website. So someone please explain:

I’m not sure if it is just me or if the definition of what a blog is has changed.
I always thought a blog was a chronological record of whatever the blog owner wanted to discuss. E.g. 12th December - We did a clean up in the park etc. Which would be a ‘web log’ or ‘blog’!
But this no longer seems to be the case as most of the ‘blogs’ I come across just seem to be web pages like any other perhaps with a slight emphasis on it having been written by some relevant employee.
The content just seems to be occasionally updated and perpetual instead of a log.
Might just be me, but to my mind if you want a page on your website about a certain topic there seems little reason to call it a blog? I might be missing something though

When was the last time you read someone’s blog before using their goods/services?
