Very fast Google indexing

Has your question been answered?

No, I can’t say my question has been answered.

Can’t think of anything else to say except check your server logs for bot visits, it does seem to be the obvious way to figure out how you got indexed so speedily.

I can see how the server log will show me how often the page gets spidered, but I have no idea how to deduct the WHY it would get spidered more or less often than other pages. Can you shed any light on that?

Yes, it really is as simple as that Google thinks that your site is worth crawling that often. Nice work.

This is a good article on the subject:

LOL. I figured that one out. What I meant was: WHY do Google think my site is crawling that often? Or more to the point: how do I duplicate that for my next site, and how do I make sure it stays that way?
After I had the trouble with my blog last week, it suddenly takes more than 12 hours to get indexed.

I’ll have a look at the link you posted and see if that makes me any wiser; thanks for that.

Presumably because your site is popular and because you add content regularly. For the right kind of site, fresh content can definitely help your reputation with google. As for duplicating it, a great way to test this would be to repeat exactly what you did awith the new site and see if the same results occur.

Sorry, what trouble?

Trouble was with the blog section of my site. I host my blog on my own site as .co.uk/wp etc, and after changing some of the settings, it turned out I had done something wrong. ( no idea what/why/where/how). The permalinks on the "main/index"blog page started to point to my site-index page ( and still do ) in stead of the individual blog pages, and Google either stopped indexing, or changed from 1 minute to 4 days, overnight. I have been wrestling with if for a few days, and uploaded a new blog post last night for the first time since 30/12. After 12 hours, it is still not indexed.

I run a couple of blogs, so i update them on daily basis with unique writeup, i have experience this thing too when ever i post on my blog and it is index after very few time, even some times its less then three four minutes.

Google is always changing things from day to day. Do you update your site constantly? Because I have seen news sites and blogs that updated through out the day get indexed very quickly compared to other sites.

Most of the times Google will index a new website gradually, yes. That is at least what I have observed with most. The speed at which Google will index all your internal pages will depend on different factors though.

Whatever it depends on, I’m back to under 6 hours now. Stuck a post up at lunchtime, and it was indexed when I came home; could be 5 hours or 5 minutes.

Well I have a strong point on this topic. I had a very good site and my new posts were indexed in literally matter of minutes and sometime seconds. Let me explain you how I did it…

  1. I connected my site with Onlywire (connected onlywire with most possible social networks)
  2. Some good and genuine accounts and also some real people subscribed to my Rss Feed.

Only followed these two steps and my every new post got straight indexed in big G.

The reason that your site is getting indexed in minutes can be the 2nd one. Some good and real people must have subscribed your Rss feed. Believe me Rss feed alone can make a big difference in google rankings.

Actually my post always goes to be pending for approval whenever I try to post something wherever in this forum. Did all member have the same as what I experience? It’s happening until now.

Trust me, you’re not the only one suffering from this…

Fortunately for us, most of the time the system works well… but there are one or two members that have this particular issue :frowning:

It’s giving us a bit of extra work around here  But we haven’t been able to know why it is happening… did you do something naughty in the past ? :eyebrow: :stuck_out_tongue:

My site indexed in 4 hours

Hi Benbob,

Its really good thing that your site get indexed very fast. I am also a newbie and also quite interested to see your site. So if you provide us the URL of your site then it would be good for all newbie seo…

Thank you for giving me the best answer I can have yet. but I’m still looking forward to have my privilege of normal forum answering here. Thanks molona.

Well thats really nice that your post upload immediately get index. This shows that your site has good content and credibility in Big Google Eye. I have one question for you, Do you bookmark your post immediately after uploading it? Or Do you use third party ping sites like pingomatic? I am just asking you this for knowledge purpose…

The more frequently you update your site the more chances Google will take notice and crawl you site. If you setup Webmaster tool your XML sitemap will be crawled every time you publish a new post. Simple as that.
