Hi all,
I run a large travel site thats only getting bigger(was started as a hobby but its not so much anymore lol)
My site is on a domain extentions of .co.uk and i have just aquired the .eu domain, my site isnt restricted to the uk its world wide or atleast thats my goal but ofcause the .com is taken so trying to make the best of a bad situation.
my co.uk domain was started around 2011-2012 and the .eu domain is only a few months old, the benefits of .eu from what i know of is it gains better standing with google but then at the same time the age of .co.uk gets good standings too but i dont want to be only for the uk but world wide, what would you guys suggest? move my site and 301 the old domain or leave it in co.uk and just redirect .eu?
might be able to get the .net but the .com is already taken, it does expire in 3 months so hopefully i can grab it then but even then that’s by chance as there is no telling if the owner renews or not
I would definitely get .net, and try and get .com if possible.
Have you looked at the current ____.com website? is it abandoned, or in good shape?
It might be worth asking the current owner (find out who is is by going to whois) if he is interested in selling it. you might want to wait until the 3 months is up first though, as if you alert him someone is interested he might make sure to renew it.
If you can’t get the .com domain, I would recommend buying the .net and redirecting the .co.uk and .eu to that.
lol its just nice to get an answer, been trying to figure this out for a few weeks now as like i said the .co.uk domain has good weight with its age but restrics me to only one country ty for your help much appreciated
