Setting up a local apache server to use mysql and php

Hello.

I am trying to set up a local apache server with my sql and php on my computer.in which to mess about with the php lauguage itself… (trying to learn)… But i cant seem to get it to work… Could anyone point me.in the right direction or give me a step by step guide on how to do it?

I have apache installed already
Tryed to get my sql and php to work but failed…

Well if you’re not entirely concerned about learning the installation procedure, consider using a precompiled bundle. WAMP, MAMP, XAMPP, etc.
