Apache and php not working

Hi, I have followed the instructions for installing individual packages in “Build your own database driven web site using php and mysql” and have this problem.

  1. installed mysql-no problem
  2. installed apache- no problem. tested it and it worked
  3. followed instructions for php and then apache would not work at all

??? please can someone guide me through this process as I am new to this ???

The instructions for installing PHP have changed since the book was published, see the erratas page for more info.

great. I followed your link and the new instructions and SUCCESS. Apache is now configured to support PHP.
(the monitor reads Apache/2.2.15 (Win32) PHP/5.3.2)
still haven’t got a clue what I’m doing but will persevere following the book as it is interesting and I would like to learn more!
