Questions on website Traffic - Need Help from Experienced!

Hello Everybody,

This time I am trying to know about site’s traffic. So please find my questions below: (Plz only experienced and who can answer all questions reply!)

  1. How much traffic can a newly built site gets without SEO and how much if a site is regularly(twice in a month) updated(via blog)?

  2. If I do SEO(SBM,Forum,Blog) on a site(new/old) for 3hrs, how much traffic is normally gained? Please note that the SBM,Forum,Blog submissions also needs new accounts to post and average submission would be 4/hour.

  3. What is the average, good, better, best traffic count to a site?

  4. Does 100visits a month to a site is a good count for site’s traffic?

  5. If you are an SEO, how much traffic can you get to a site(new/old) when you have to work for 3hrs a day and without any software/tools used?

6)Other than SBM, what are the best methods to gain targeted traffic?

Hope you understand all the above questions. *Please write back to me if you can answer all the questions.

Thanks,
Pradeep.

I didn’t know this thread had such a great echo chamber!

Pradeeps - you don’t get it. No one can promise you x number of visits for x number of hours. The ONLY way they can do that is via paid traffic (SEM/PPC). If anyone does promise you x number of visits for x hours/ x dollars etc - then RUN!

Depends a lot on your niche. Say, a medical site for elderly of a particular region may do well with 1000 hits or so but the same won’t hold true for a web design site.

  1. If I do SEO(SBM,Forum,Blog) on a site(new/old) for 3hrs, how much traffic is normally gained? Please note that the SBM,Forum,Blog submissions also needs new accounts to post and average submission would be 4/hour.

Difference will be noted only if links are from good neighborhoods or are do follow.

  1. What is the average, good, better, best traffic count to a site?

Depends again on your niche.

  1. Does 100visits a month to a site is a good count for site’s traffic?

same as reply to 1

  1. If you are an SEO, how much traffic can you get to a site(new/old) when you have to work for 3hrs a day and without any software/tools used?

That’s difficult to measure in absolute terms unless you consider certain factors.

6)Other than SBM, what are the best methods to gain targeted traffic?

Article and directory submissions, using social networking platforms like Twitter, Facebook etc.

Thanks for all your replies! I would like to hire a freelancer to work on few projects and I am not sure how much traffic to expect from him If I pay 300bucks per month? So can someone tell me how much traffic is reasonable to ask/expect for 300$? Please, I know it depends on the SEO’s and Site’s performance. But I mean it in general if I want to hire someone for $300, 3hrs/day & 60hrs/month, how much traffic sounds good? Again please don’t think it depends on your wish/niche, saying someone will never satisfy even though they receive 1000visits a day or something like that!

Your suggestions are needed, thanks
Pradeep.

It depends. A site on a really popular topic might get thousands of hits, a site on a more eclectic topic might only get a few dozen.

  1. If I do SEO(SBM,Forum,Blog) on a site(new/old) for 3hrs, how much traffic is normally gained? Please note that the SBM,Forum,Blog submissions also needs new accounts to post and average submission would be 4/hour.

It depends. If you can find good quality sites with high traffic that are happy to give you editorial links, you might see a big increase in your traffic. If you only submit to sites that are low volume, poor quality or “nofollow”, you probably won’t see much difference.

  1. What is the average, good, better, best traffic count to a site?

It depends. See answer to Q1. How many people would you expect to come through the doors of a shop? It’s not a question anyone can answer without knowing a lot more detail about what you’re offering.

  1. Does 100visits a month to a site is a good count for site’s traffic?

I wouldn’t have thought so. My website gets 1500 visits a day, and that’s pretty low volume, semi-specialist and localised.

  1. If you are an SEO, how much traffic can you get to a site(new/old) when you have to work for 3hrs a day and without any software/tools used?

In what way is that different to Q2?

6)Other than SBM, what are the best methods to gain targeted traffic?

The first step is to have good quality content, regularly updated if that’s relevant, with good quality semantic markup.

The second step is to try to get good quality editorial links from other good quality relevant websites.

How long is a piece of string? Really - asking such generic questions like this only get you generic answers. There are so many factors at play that could influence the outcome that it would be foolish to attempt an estimate. Updating content doesn’t automatically mean additional traffic.

Depends on where you post. Its about quality, not quantity.

Depends on the site. Some sites determine 100 unique daily visitors successful. Others feel they require 100,000…

See answer above.

The only answer to this is “more than was done without optimisation/promotion”…

I take it you mean SBM to be social book marking? I don’t consider that to be a sustainable traffic acquisition activity. There’s only two real methods - write good, compelling, useful, interesting and unique content and then use whatever relevant tool is at your disposal (press releases, forums, social media etc) to assist with attracting valuable relevant back links.
