My Photoshop prefs have all disappeared

why does this happen… I can’t get my workspace to look as it used to…

I like PS to cover ENTIRE screen (i.e., that gray background) and for img to “float” inside it, so I can drag it wherever I want… right now it’s different… how do I set this up so it’s like it was before?

and why on earth does PS ditch your preferences suddenly for no reason?? this is lousy usability…

I think it’s set for “standard” screen mode… all three screen modes are not what I want and not how it was set up before…:frowning:

would appreciate some help… am on PS CS5 on mac 10.6.8

so I chose “float in window” under window -> arrange… so now have imgs “floating” in workspace…

however, see thru to other app I have open when in PS… I definitely do not want that… I want that gray PS bg back, that covers whole screen… I don’t like it when I see thru to other open app when in PS, I find it distracting and cluttering…
