With many photos to post on a site, and, since they help not only visitors grasp what’s going on, but rankings too - - I’m a little concerned that when I buy stock photos that G. and the engines view them as unique.
Assuming the photos are of a dimension to resize, I’ll scale them. But I can’t pass through a color filter since they are photos in this case are of natural products.
Does G. do image/pattern/kb matching for assessing ‘duplicate images’ across sites?
What can be done when buying photos that others may have on their same themed site?
Based on my experience in getting over 300,000 images indexed on Google I feel I can safely say that Google does Image / Pattern / Kb matching and also it checks the quality across different sites to display the best match for a given Keyword.

How might G. measure quality?
kb to reflect higher resolution?
Dimensions are a given but can G determine image resolution over area?
If two or more sites are determined to have the same image(s) I take it the earliest one indexed has preference (similar to duplicate content). If this is the case I should search same themed sites before buying the images.
