For a Yahoo/BOTW/DMOZ directory submission am I better off waiting until I have more backlinks and a pagerank to submit or should I submit my site now?
Regarding the articles I am posting on the site, should I submit these to other websites, if so which ones?
Are free directories helpful to get, obviously the good ones are but I always see these packages that advertise 2000 free directories, does that help?
Any other helpful advice would be awesome and very much appreciated!
Thanks for reading.
I would do a few links to get yourself indexed, and then make sure you don’t get too hung up on link building (a common mistake). Links are great, but keep in mind google has a knack for knowing which links are easily obtained versus links that were placed there by a site with great content and an editorial policy.
Instead, focus on making your site wonderful to the extent that people will like it and want to come back and tell their friends. Get this part write and you won’t even think about links. Instead you will be thinking about what your users need the most.
Focusing on fewer ultra high quality links from a few different sources is definitely more important than building directory links. These are the kind of links which you may have to simply email the other person, asking nicely for a link.
You can post articles in free article sites which are having good PR, it helps you to get natural links from there. And try to add some good content on your site as well on a regular basis as Google considers new and fresh content.
Quality link building is more important. You need to get maximum back links but concentrate on quality. You need to submit your website in DMOZ and BOTW after getting good Alexa rank and PR.
