Hello! I am an absolute newbie at selling my book on my web site. I understand that I need a squeeze page in order to collect emails and build from there. I have a squeeze page but don’t know how to connect it to my web site. I signed up for Aweber, but don’t think they offer squeeze pages. I’ve been at this since last year and I’m beginning to think I’m just not seeing something that’s very obvious. Unfortunately, I don’t know what I don’t know and I’m not even sure I have stated my question correctly. Please forgive me if I’m missing something simple!
Hi findyourparadigm. Welcome to the forums.
I understand that I need a squeeze page in order to collect emails and build from there.
That’s basically a web page dedicated to advertising a product, right? Why not have this on your site?
I have a squeeze page but don’t know how to connect it to my web site.
Where is it?
I signed up for Aweber, but don’t think they offer squeeze pages.
No, but they provide you with the code that enables you to place a signup form on your web page. So when people visit your product page or sit, they enter their email address, which goes into Aweber’s database.
Unfortunately, I don’t know what I don’t know and I’m not even sure I have stated my question correctly.
Don’t worry. See if the questions I’ve asked mean anything to you.
Thanks for the help - I really appreciate it!
I asked about doing it this way and don’t understand the answer. I was told this is not the best way but wasn’t given an alternative. Grrr…
I presume you were told that by a marketer. Perhaps he/she is right, but I find everything they do is ugly and offensive, so it doesn’t work on me!
Anyhow, I don’t know about Aweber, but the email service I use works like this:
- on my site, there’s a subscribe form
- when the users subscribe, they get sent to a page of my choosing (e.g. a thankyou page)
How you organize your site is up to you. But there’s no reason you can’t have a separate page on your site that doesn’t have any inbound or outbound links. That is, it’s kind of in its own space, so that people won’t find it until they’re sent to it.
If you want it as your home page, that’s find too. But unless there are links to the real home page, it may be hard to find.
