Is that any updation happened in Google algorithm today?

Friends,

Actually, today my old tourism websites came #1 page and #1 position in Google SERP for my targeted keywords after 20 months… I thought every website which is banned by Google and it will never get ranking again… But today am really amazing about my results…And, I did not build back links for my old sites… But now it is in #1 position…

Please let me know, what’s the reason for this sudden improvement in my rankings???

May be its because Google has came up with new Panda 3.9 update which focuses mainly on social media links.I don’t know about your links on social media sites but its what i think could be the reason.

And you would be wrong. There is no Panda 3.9. Google does not release their version numbers nor when they actually update.

Just because it is on the web does not make it fact. Google has released no version numbers. Nor do they disclose the algorithm’s details/updates. Or when they actually do an update.

As directly quoted from Google:

[FONT=Verdana]According to this article, Google announced the update on Twitter on 24th July 2012. The OP is asking if any algorithm change occurred today, so a two-week-old update isn’t the answer to the question. Let’s leave it there. :slight_smile:

Google makes ~500 changes to the algorithm every year, so yes there was probably an update to the algorithm today.

I agree with you that Google don’t explain their algorithm strategies to anyone but for sure there are updates from Google having versions.

How long your site stay in that position?
Does your is actually deserves get that position?
Any other techniques are done except link-building (that you never build)?
How old is your site? (I see more old website with higher authority have a #1 seat) and of course with their valuable content as well.

If you think your site isn’t have special value to get #1 position, then you may think that it’s Google dance or something like “Google mistakes” (the new algorithm is not completely perfect, many webmasters are discussed about it)

My websites is about 2.5 years old… I have done only directory submission and link exchange for those websites… 2 yrs back it was occupied #1 position for various keywords ( ex : Shimla Packages, Shimla Tour Packages, shimla tours, shimla tour etc) …

After some days, I was checking my SERP for my websites and I got shocked… My websites are not in Google rankings even a domain keyword… And, I thought that my websites are penalized by Google.

But yesterday , my websites came back to the normal position for my targeted keywords after 20 months… I do not know how it happens,
