I need a super simple shopping cart system. I sell 1 product on my site and every single solution I have looked at is designed for stores.
I use PayPal now but cant control the sales confirmation page so most of my sales do not return to my site after completion - so the various pixels never fire.
Anyone know of a simple 1 or 2 item shopping cart app/company?
I want to move away from PayPal as soon as possible.

Metalinks has a simple cart that you might check out as well. And they are compatible with Paypal (to use as the IPSP).

If you’re only selling one item, you may want to try BuckDrop
It’s a free service specifically for a person collecting money for just one item.

BuckDrop is a good solution if you have one item and don’t want to customize your options. But try it and you’ll that if you use E-Junkie it will probably generate more sales. i guess Paypal buy now buttons enough for you. design your product page and put paypal button.
PayPal button is good start, but you can also consider osCommerce or ZenCart

It uses only GET and POST requests, it’s a single script. Very simple in my opinion.

Allot of people use os-commerce or Zen-cart because most people purchase hosting on LINUX based servers and their servers have built in support for these os-commerce packages, you can just goto your admin control panel in your hosting manager and scroll near the bottom where it might say PHP scripts, RUBY scripts, etc, and you can automatically install those carts on your server with a push of a button and do a web setup, thats why many people run these ones because its so easy to setup and does not require a ton of technical knowledge.
Once you get used to Zen-cart, you will find it’s really nice and it has a large community to help you.

It’s smart to move away from the simple
Paypal solution as you’ll see an immediate
boost to your sales.
But when you make the move, don’t simply look
for a straight up replacement. Look for better
ways to boost your business.
For example, I have never seen 1 website or
1 product that i could not recommend a good
upsell to add to it. This alone can easily boost
your sales revenue in the 30%+ range if you
simply put a few hours of effort into it.

phone all the time. PayPal screams BEGINNER…
Why? Because all the new businesses go to it
because it’s free.
This “free” option really costs a LOT of money
because you’re losing conversions.
Well they’re definitely my thoughts to (I don’t often buy online using paypal). But I just don’t know a cheap but reliable alternative. Ideally I’d like to find a service that allows me to accept the credit card details on my site and process it behind the scenes.
A service I like the look of is eway.com.au (for australia) as they do that and from what I understand are a well known name. Just wish the pricing was a bit nicer.
Is js and cookies ok to use in a shopping cart? And can you suggest a cheap reliable alternative to PayPal? If I can get away from it, I’d love to!

but how much more money you would make
by implementing some simple, yet powerful
tools that would boost your revenue.
People tend to look at PayPal as a FREE
option …but if it lowers your incoming revenue,
how free is it really?
