Hi Friends, I have created my own job website <snip>link removed</snip> which is full of latest job information and interview preparation tips. I learnt about SEO and link exchange and implemented the same in my website using twitter, orkut, facebook and email marketing. Now my website carrying google page rank 2 after one year hard work. But its still 2 for a long and I don’t know other way of promoting my website to get more traffic.
Anyone of you know the metrics for getting more google page rank? Is it necessary to have more pages for a website to get high rank?
Is it possible by a single individual person to make more traffic and good SEO for this website? Could anyone help? Thanks in advance.
First be patient it takes time to improve your ranking in search engines do on page optimisation try to generate more and more backlinks for your website try promoting your website through article marketing .hope it helped
First and formost, you do have a good CMS right. I would work on building individual backlinks to your site. A lot of the times people just work on building one page. Google loves when you have multiple pages indexed. Seriously people make that mistake all the time. Interlock them too.
Are you digging, stumbleling, ect your articles on your site. That can help you a ton. Also, I would use a lot of social networking sites and some forum marketing. There are a ton of ways to increase your PR. It does take time and it is cached externally 4 times a year. PM me and I can help you out if you would like.

Anyone that tell you can get ranked in number 1 in two days or something like that is not being straight with you. Honestly, it takes time so don’t obsess about it just keep working.

I recommend ignoring pagerank. It’s not nearly as important as people think it is. What matters is where your site ranks for important keywords (important keywords being the ones that make you money.) And what do you need to rank higher? Links (preferably from related pages with anchor texts including your target keywords.)
My preferred method for building links is with article marketing. Using article distribution services you can build up a significant amount of links pretty quickly. Although these links will not be of very high quality so you will need a lot of them. Also you should probably make some web 2.0 pages that link back to your main page and then link to those 2.0s with your articles as well.
