How much traffic do you get from the search engines?

So, how much traffic do the search engines bring your site?

I know I haven’t had my site back for a while now, and search now accounts for 20% of my traffic.

If search accounts for a ton of your traffic - do you think your site would suffer a huge lose if your rankings went down?

If the search engines aren’t your best source of traffic, what brings you more traffic than the engines?

About half of traffic to my main site comes from search engines, about 5% from referrals from other sites, and the remainder from direct addressing, bookmarks or email links (if you believe AWstats)

Organic traffic: 100% targeted and the conversion rate from the traffic from search engines is pretty much good.

Traffic coming from Social media: Beneficial but can be good source for exposure of product or company and not for generating expected business and increases the bounce rate of website which is not that good.

Referral Links: Beneficial but only if coming from high traffic website.

we get big percentage from organic serp.
if rank fall i am sure we would suffer somewhat, but thats not the only source of course.

So, if you lost most of your rankings, all your traffic would be gone, correct? I know its best to split your source of traffic from various sources - that way, you don’t hurt at all if you lose any rankings.

Ya, I use social media as well to market - it has brought in a lot of members. Are you using twitter, facebook, and the other networking sites?

That’s easier said than done, depending on your target market. For the site that I’m running, the majority of available traffic will be coming from search engines or direct addressing (particularly returning to previously visited/bookmarked site). I don’t see any great scope for getting a huge volume of referral traffic from other non-search sites - while it is a possibility, the amount of work it would take for the likely ROI is not worth the effort.

Yes, if I lose search rankings, I’m stuffed. It’s a gamble I’m going to take!

I agree. Sadly though, I fell this one in the past. Good lesson to learn though.

there is 75% traffic that search engines sent and rest is divided between social media and other forums. without SE traffic its really hard to survive.

Near about 70% traffic from search engines i get.

Its depend on how many keywords you have rank in SERPs. Or if you rank to a one and a high traffic keyword then you’ll get a lot of traffic from search engine.

It also depends on whether or not your site has been indexed and to what degree as I can not find most of the pages of my newer site in results that should be showing up because it is very similar to another site of mine that is generating a ton of google traffic for many different keywords.

I get 90% traffic from search engine because my site is in top 3 from 3 different pages in Google.com only.

my site accounts for 52 percent of totall traffic and am waiting for getting the best possible…

What, you get 52% of traffic on the whole of the internet? That’s amazing!

Ya, I know my traffic from the engines has been rising, but, right now most of the traffic is coming from direct and referrals.

How long have you been getting that much traffic from search?

Varies from site to site - from 40% to 90%. Most sites get above 70%. And most of that is Google.

So if Google bins my sites, which is not a question of ‘if’ but ‘when’, I’d have only 30% of the traffic left.

But this is by design - it accounts for the best ROI. When this changes, I have a plan B for most of the sites that can be acted upon immediately.

For as long as I’ve been tracking it. To be honest, given the nature and content of the site, it’s about what I’d expect and hope for. It isn’t a site where I would expect to get a huge number of referrals - some, yes, but not too many as a proportion of total traffic.

Another site has less than 20% of traffic from search engines, and about 30% from referrals.

wait sir there’s a misunderstanding…52 percent of total traffic to my site…:stuck_out_tongue:

Well yes, I guessed that … but that isn’t what you said!

Right now i am not getting much from search engine… more of the traffic is coming from indirect links but i want to increase the traffic from search engine to my photo blog…
i dont know what should i do for that… can anyone help me ?
