Help me..... link building and report

hello
I am new in SEO and i have some question related to back links.
I know i can get back links through blog commenting,forum posting,profile linking,social book marking etc,
but my question is
"if some body give me project to built 1000 back links for his website and he said to me to submit report of back…then how can i make report ?
and if i use his link in my signature and i make 1000 post in differnt forum using his link in my signature then now how i can send him report ?
What is profile linking ?

please explan it in detail i am new in SEO and i know nothing about SEO
