Well the F1 season kicks off very soon with the 1st race in Australia from Melbourne (this weekend). Looking at the current forecast for the area it will be a dry race. There are a number of changes to the rules and regulations (Formula 1) see there for the summary of them.
Which driver do you want to see win the driver’s championship?
Which team do you want to see win the constructors championship?
How well do you think Michael Schumacher will do for this, his 2nd season back in F1?
Which track/race is your favourite?
I am hoping that Lewis Hamilton will win the drivers championship and for Mclaren to win the constructors championship. I hope they haven’t taken too much with a risk with the changes that they have made to their cars for the first race of the season.
I hope that the first race of the season doesn’t end up with the drivers not taking any risks because of the rate of degradation of the tyres this year. I don’t think that KERS will make much of a difference if both the attacking and defedning cars are both using it at the same time. I think the change to the rules and regs that will have the most affect will be tyre allocations as with less tyres available to the teams for the race they have to be more careful about how they use the tyres.
For my favourite circuit, one has to be Monaco both for the scenery and for the fact that it punishes any driver who makes a mistake another would have to be Silverstone. I don’t like some of these circuits which have massive run-off areas, I feel a driver should be punished by the track for making mistakes. I know you need run-offs for safety but at the speeds that they’re racing at, some of the run-off areas can’t make too much difference.
Team: Ferrari (Hey, don’t blame me, it’s all my father in law’s fault… )
Michael: for him, I hope he does better than last year, though I wonder why he came back
No favorite circuit, but I’m glad the Rome GP is off for the moment… it would close one of the only two roads that lead from where I live to the office
By the way, how well do you think Schumacher will do this year?
Well my fav drivers are Mark Webber, and Jenson Button right now I think. I also like Rubens Barrichello, but I think he’s let one too many WDC opportunity slip past. But he’s paid his dues (all three have) so I would be very pleased if any of them won.
I also like Robert Kubica, and hope he recovers soon.
As for Michael, I don’t see how he could do worse than last year, but it’s always possible!
My fav circuits are easy:
Spa (despite the face that they keep trying to neuter it)
Monza (who doesn’t like all those Tifosi?)
Monaco (gotta love that history)
Suzuka (Fantastic circuit)
Actually you can probably just make a list of the non-Hermann Tilke circuits and those would be the ones I like.
I’m not surprised that you want Hamilton to win, but I still think that he’s a terrific driver and could be a champion in his own right but he’s been favored too much and doesn’t earn it as he didn’t earn it in the past. I could say the same from Vettel though.
I would have loved if Webber would have won the championship last year.
Well, I’m a Spaniard… Alonso, of course! I do hope that he will be the best I wouldn’t mind if Webber or Kubica won it and some other names around there. If he has to be English, I prefer Button. He can be a fantastic driver when he wants.
Ferrari. Yet, last year Bull demonstrated that they had the best car. I can understand it if it is the same this year.
Can’t say. I haven’t followed his progress with Mercedes. He did one or two things I didn’t like last year. I do hope that he will do better this year to add a bit of exciment
Difficult question… I don’t think I have a favorite but I do like city tracks so I would think that Singapore or Valencia.
