Firefox issues with JSFiddle and CodePen

Works for me in Firefox latest. Do you have scripts or anything else blocked?
(you’re not missing much with my demo, though).

Works for me in FF too.

JSFiddle doesn’t work - at all, ever - even if I have FF in safe mode (all add-ons disabled).

Embedded CodePens do not work, even with Firefox in safe mode, but I can use the “edit on CodePen” link on them, and they work fine there (even without safe mode).

What’s your FF version and OS?

I’m off to try it in FF and Linux Mint.

Just did. Works.

Currently Firefox 45 on Ubuntu Gnome 15.10, but it hasn’t worked for a long time, so the issue goes back to earlier versions of both.

The CodePen issue I reported on 14th May 2015, (affecting FF37 and FF38), as having started after a Discourse update. I can’t remember how long I’ve had JSFiddle issues, but I suspect even longer than that.

I have some issues with JSfiddle in Firefox. The fiddle displays and runs OK, but I can’t make edits. If I do edit and hit update, nothing changes.

I can see the code, but not the result.

I can edit the code, but when I hit “update”, the progress bar hangs just short of the end and never completes.

With CodePen, I invariably get a 404 for the embedded Pen, but it’s (usually) fine when I go to their site.

And at this point, I think I should split these posts into a separate thread.

I’m sure it used to work, some months ago in an earlier version (FF on Windows).
But I noticed a while back, when someone posts a question with a fiddle, I try fixing the css or whatever and it does not change anything.

Anything in the console?

Only

Use of getAttributeNode() is deprecated. Use getAttribute() instead.

How bothered are you about getting to the bottom of this?
I could recreate your exact environment and see if I can reproduce.

If you have nothing better to do with your time, I would be grateful. It’s not a major issue, as more members seem to use CodePen than JSFiddle, but it is frustrating.

Ha!

Ubuntu 15.10 — 32 or 64 bit?

Ubuntu Gnome 64 bit.

Downloading it now. I’ll let you know how I get on.

Thank you.

Just installed Ubuntu Gnome 64 bit (on Virtual Box). It comes with FF 41.0.2. On that, the JS fiddle demo from the previous post works fine.

Will now update FF.

Unfortunately, the demo works as expected on FF 45.0
I cannot recreate your problem : (

@cpradio: any ideas? (what with this being vaguely Linux related)
