Taking Image Slicing from Photoshop to Dreamweaver - Layers Magazine | Layers Magazine
I followed that video when slicing my images in photoshop. Before I saved my PS for the Web, I had PS “Gernerate CSS” under the Slice Output settings in the Slices options. (8:50 in the video).
Now I am in Dreamweaver, and I am trying to put some text in three areas, and a youtube video in another area. Is there a simple way such as in MS Word where I can put a TEXT BOX and then simply have Dreamweaver understand that that’s where I want it to stay?
I am tempted to just write the text in PS and then save the text as an image and then re-slice everything.
Really, what you need to do is to start from scratch and create the website properly. Starting with a PSD and slicing and dicing it in Dreamweaver is pretty much guaranteed to make a website that is inaccessible and fails dismally on different browsers/platforms/settings.
Sorry, but there’s no easy way of saying it – that’s the way it is.

That tut solves your immediate problem but doesn’t address the larger issue. Seriously, the PSD to Dreamweaver approach produces a lot of Web sites, and few of them good. It’s like creating a nifty picture of a car in Photoshop and thinking, “Boy howdy, just one more step and I’ll have this car in my driveway!”
I agree…what tutorials would you recommend that can show me a better approach?
