As monitoring last year’s sale, i have observed that Affiliate sales boost on valentine’s day if we offer some relevant offer. That’s obvious but i would like to think that is this strategy applicable when your company is totally irrelevant to offer Valentine’s day promotion such as any industrial or medical/technical services. I would welcome such Merchants to let us understand what they prefer to do, either create some campaign to attract customers on Valentine’s day or do nothing.
Quite right. Affiliate sales boost on every holiday if offering “relevant offer”. However, your company’s irrelevance to, for instance, Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean that you can’t promote the mentioned sales. Just vice versa: this is kinda advantage for any company, industrial, medical or whatever, as your customers will see the “relation” to holiday observance and your attempt to please them with additional and special-for-the-day product line. You’ll surely have boost in your sales not only in affiliate ones but your specialized as well. All you need is to make a right and smooth “move” from your whatever products or services to Valentine’s Day goods promotion. Or at least make kinda “connection” between two, at first glance, different spheres of activity. If you do all this online, easier for you. Check out my example, “distant”, but still demonstrative one: http://e-opportunities4u.blogspot.com/2011/02/business-is-business-that-is-main.html
I’ve never noticed any specific changes on VDay itself, but the day after Christmas is always a pretty good day for me. My theory has always been that on the holiday itself, people are busy, but the next day they have a little more time to let loose and maybe do some shopping?
I’m also wondering about VDay being on a Monday. A lot of people are actually celebrating tonight and even last night. So which day would really be considered in order to notice any difference in sales? Or should we be looking at a 3-4 day sales period as opposed to a single day?
