Can any one tell me that directory submission is still beneficial for a website after Google penguin 2.1 update?

Directory submission has had minimal impact on SEO for quite some time. Directories that accept any submissions without serious quality checking have no value for Google – all that tests is how much effort a site owner has put into SEO, and they couldn’t care less about that. High quality directories like Dmoz are a different story – because all submissions have to be manually approved, and the site does have strict standards, for a site to appear in there actually means something, and so Google does still pay attention to it.

Directory submission is helpful only if you are submitting to high quality and relevant directories which most of those are manual directories. Not all niches have great directories and you must not waste your time searching for directories when you can invest in your content and user engagement.

Hmmm I got it. Now we don’t need to waste our time in searching directories. We need to do submissions on high PR directories.

After the recent updates from Google Directory submissions are given very low importance because Through these submissions we are not getting results instantaneously it make take 1 week for paid searches and it may take 1 year for free submissions. So that, to recover from these updates we want instantaneous results so now people are not using these Directory Submissions. May the reason will be Results. Instead of using these techniques you can use the latest techniques in SEO to recover from Google Hummingbird Algorithm and Google panda updates…

Directory submission is still very helpful if you are submitting your website in quality and high page rank website such as Dmoz and Yahoo. Other think you should note that before submitting directory submission is category, it should be very relevant.

If you Google the phrase “free high PR directory submission sites”, you’ll find plenty of information for yourself.

There is no point in other members posting lists of directories which may not be relevant to your particular niche. Such lists are generally only of interest to those intent on spamming, and as such, have no place here. In any case, as has already been said, the search engines pay very little attention to directories and other sites where you can easily post links for yourself, so you’d be better off using your time to improve the content on your site, rather than worrying about directory submission.

I agree with your points but you know if we search in Google then we can get multiple lists but you know on those list maximum sites are epxired,banned and lots of site has error so I though if you have any updated list then kindly provide me so that’s I was asking to you.

So does that not tell you something about the kinds of directory site where it’s easy to get a link? They’re probably not the kind of sites where you would actually want to have your link.

I don’t think Directories are helpful. They took time like 2-3 months to approve a single URL and if you don’t post with quality or any misunderstanding they can delete your valuable work. You can use social media sites instead of directory submission.

only high PR article directories can work for your websites. Posting on low PR directories is not beneficial as they are becoming dead soon.
