It’s that time of year…
Who else has their tree up?
Edit: Weird. It has rotated the image!

I have to say against my wishes our tree went up on Sunday and we have an illuminated raindeer above our front door; Bah humbug.

What I tell Jane when things like that happen: “operator error”.
Wow HAWK, your tree is glued to the wall - how original
As we use living trees, the tree doesn’t come up until after the 20th.
I love the look and smell of a real tree in the home.
Since there are no children here and little to no holiday visitors other decorations including a small inside-lit ceramic tree in a cat-inaccessible place are good enough. I’m mostly interested in holiday food, and some seasonal music, and not the decorations now anyway.
We had cats, and the cats loved the real Christmas tree!.. and we enjoyed watching them gleefully climb in it. After they tipped the tree over a time or two, I screwed a hook into the ceiling over the tree and tied a strong string between the hook and the top of the tree. We all enjoyed our trees! :kitty: :kitty: :kitty:
Ours will probably go up at the weekend, we try to keep our cat away from ours
I’ll be taking my spare one into work today to decorate the office, but certainly not time to put one up at home yet!
This sunday it should go up. Not a real one though, and not very big either. But we do put up a lot of lights . Inside, it’s a waste to put them outside where we can’t see them
Running Bear has just been out to order ours. We always have a real tree, so it doesn’t go up until nearer Christmas. (And we don’t have cats, so no problem there.) We both love the smell of a real tree - it wouldn’t smell like Christmas without one. We don’t bother much with other decorations - just a few things my family have given us over the years. Like @Mittineague, we’re more interested in the food.
We put ours up last weekend. That’s kind of become our unofficial family tradition - instead of going out and fighting the crowds on Black Friday, we put up all our Christmas decorations, and start listening to Christmas music.
Me too, but I only eat it. I leave the preparation to others
We have an artificial tree as the last two real ones we had the needles had fallen off after a couple of days!
I used to buy our tree on the way home from Christmas dinner at work. One year I picked out the tree ( I had quite a bit to drink ) and my wife drove the car home with me sitting behind her. The tree was sticking out the boot and passenger window and when we put it up the top was bent over on the ceiling!
Nice! thinking of getting one. first one in over a couple of decades i think. Would love to get a real one & they smell awesome. but don’t want to deal w/watering & needles.
Ronpat love you cat proof tree. I’ll see how mine handle the tree first (if i get one. right now decorating my cubicle)
My dad quite often buys a tree that is too tall for the ceiling (they put it in the bay window where the ceiling is a few inches lower than the rest of the room) … quite deliberately! Because the trees often taper so much at the top, he would rather get a 7’ tree and cut the top 18 inches off leaving a nice big full-bodied tree that looks in better proportion than if you had started with a tree that size.
We put ours up last weekend. The cats haven’t done much other than drink all the water every day.
I just got done moving and totally need to get a tree now for the new pad. We don’t have kids but our cats love it!
Nice!
(if I rotate my head)
Here’s ours…
vb SUCKS at doing attachments from touchscreens!
Here’s one for the Sitepoint Bookstore:
Did you make that?
