Can I post the same article to article directories?

I’ve posted an article on EzineArticles and now would like to post it to some other directories such as GoArticles, ArticleBase etc.(for backlink)

Can I post the same article ? will Google not count it because Google is found on EzineArticles?

Is there any advantage to rewriting it for these other directories?

Thanks so much.

You can post it on as many article directories as you like and it will make no difference to Google because Google started ignoring article directories completely earlier this year.

Why not just read the Terms and Conditions of the article directory!!!

The question wasn’t about whether the article directories would allow it. The question was about how search engines would treat the duplicates.

nope. They asked

Can I post the same article ?
I responded to that. They also asked
will Google not count it because Google is found on EzineArticles?
You responded to that.

yes,I’m understand.

I want post a article to article directories NOT post same articles to a article directory .

Sorry,I make you misunderstand.

thanks so much,felgall and cbp.

Submitting the same article to different directories will not give you profit since Google indexing will consider the first article as unique and devalue the rest which are duplicates.
After the Panda update, Google has started killing low quality content and duplicate content.

As far as article submission is concerned, it creates loads of duplicate content… So better stay away from article submission, instead
-Start a blog and keep it alive with catchy content
-Do guest blogging on related, authority blogs
-Leave your blog link below your comment

You can use same article in up to 10 different sites I have used and do not get any problem.

You are making that up!! Care to justify the figure of 10? Why not 12 or 8???

Not at all… As the new algorithm do not support duplicate content, it is better to stop submitting same article in 10 directories. It is surely not going to benefit but you may get penalized for doing this.

Posting an article to article directories will bring some visitors to the site. It may be recommended to post only to prominent article directories. There is no harm if an article is submitted to as many directories as possible. But there won’t be much benefit as there wouldn’t be any visitors from these sites, and SEs’ hardly index these pages.

Suggestion: Submit only to few article directories that are good and likely to bring in some visitors.

Better to submit it to just one decent article directory and get one decent link… it will have no value to submit the same article over and over in different places. I disagree that Google started ignoring ALL article directories… sure many got slammed for poor quality in the Panda update but as a result of cleaning up their act some of the decent ones have come back up in terms of value. Just make sure what you post is decent, valuable content and not garbage.

Joe

You might not get any problem… but you will likely get no benefit either…

I have one question - Assume i place one content in articlebase.com site and i found various sites use the article feed of articlebase to there sites and effectively the same content published in various sites give backlinks from those sites (some are even do follow). Now i guess this is good for the site. Correct me if I am wrong.

Now if the above is true, then publishing same content in various articles sites is that bad ? May be 2 - 3 times publishing content in those several article sites is effective for long run to get backlinks. Am I correct ?

There’s no harm in publishing the same article in multiple article sites, and yes, there is still benefit. Google may have devalued many article sites, but a link is still a link, and low quality links are as important a part of a natural link profile as high quality ones. In addition, the more article sites that contain your article, the more chance of other websites using that article (together with your link) on their own site. I have seen links accrued from many different blogs that have used articles submitted to different article sites over the years, some of which have become strong links.

One important point though; never post that same article on your own website!

It might be considered duplicate content. Plus, after the Panda update, major article directories like eZineArticles were hit. Personally, I tried guest posting more than submitting to article directory recently.

I don’t think, after PANDA update, it would of any use to post the same article on every website.

It doesn’t matter if the websites allow it or not, it just wont help your cause.

But, you can try your luck. After all, no one can understand Google better than Google itself

Itwas no use doing that before the Panda update!

Yes if the article directories allow syndication, you can post the same article on multiple website as it wont be treated as duplicate content due to the property and meta tag of syndication added to that article.

I also observe how goarticles newly published articles being left behind in search results for the article title when I post articles to some other article directories. Say when I post an original article at goarticles and automatically published it, the link seem not come up in search results even I digg it for past ping for search engine crawlers. I think you should also choose the article directory you will be posting your original articles. I have article-niche as my first one to refer.
