BBC Click - Browser Ballot Hilarity

I am a regular viewer of the BBC technology show “Click” (as many of you UK people may be) which broadcasts on BBC News 24 weekly. On a recent episode they had a very interesting but accidently hilarious segment on the new European browser ballot screen, someone has uploaded it to YouTube so I highly recommend everyone check it out. It’s probably one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in regards to technology on TV (watch it through to the end).

Personal Highlights to watch out for:

  • Steve Balmer explaining that IE is the most compatible browser on earth (and baking in it’s awesomeness) - doesn’t he look like Homer Simpson!
  • Apple upon being asked to say why they think their browser is a worthy choice… declining / refusing to comment on the matter.
  • And a fat naked serial killer looking guy being the only supporter for Internet Explorer because it’s “the best thing ever” - classic.

If you want to die of laughter… check it out! :lol:

Oh I saw him on the short TV version! Verrrry odd bloke! Not really who you’d want advertising your browser. Must be a p*ss-take though surely?

Who said they were advertising the browser? It was people who watch the show sending in their video clips about what browser they choose and why. :slight_smile:

[FONT=“Georgia”]This wasn’t funny.

In fact the idea of the European Union butting into the affairs of a non-state-owned company is infuriating.

I don’t mean literally advertising as in they paid for him to advertise IE :rolleyes: (that’d mean they’d have a sense of humour) I mean that he was saying how wonderful IE is - probably not the “type” they’d want saying this (or advertising) their product. They’d want some hip, cool and trendy type not an odd, still lives with mum type.

Sorry - I do not watch the BBC as it is full of political bias (my opinion).

not a chuckle, not a giggle, not even a smile

there’s another 7 minutes of my life gone that i’ll never get back

next time, todd, you pimp something as being funny, it had bloody well better be funny

Well I thought it was funny, but I have a pretty warped and dirty sense of humour :rolleyes:
