ie6 funeral, thought i would share lol

Well this website cheered up my day, and the comments people posted had me laughing for awhile lol. It’s always refreshing to know that i’m not the only one that finds computer jokes hilarious especially when the average person might think they make no sense.

I’m posting this here to hopefully bring some laughter to someone else as my friend has brought to me.

4Seen, being a nerd, computer jokes go with the territory, the more sarcastic the better :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice share, funny and informative!

here’s a story which explains why IE6 will be a strong force for at least another 4 years --
Inside the Excruciatingly Slow Death of Internet Explorer 6
damn! I do like comment #6 on that link share r937 :shifty:

I think that the comment regarding the medical offices and the fact that they (and countless other companies) can only use their complex, expensive systems via IE6 is an enormously important point. This is the killer - or rather the life support system keeping IE6 going for quite a while to come…

Cool find. I hope IE6 grand son is better.

Tailslide, it’s rather scary that life support systems might be reliant on a browser which can be made to crash with some carefully crafted CSS. I would be tempted to make a joke about if the building loses power does the life support go into “quirks mode”, however I know UK hospitals use Windows CE and XP (I have a semi-medical background so I know from both a patient and “staff” viewpoint how outdated the equipment is) so everything you’ve said is probably entirely accurate (and scary).

There are some pics and video of the event.

About time!
