I’m just starting my web development business and finished my website. I like some things about it but it looks a bit bald for me. Can you guys take a look at it and give me some advice or ideas on how I could make it more visually appealing but still style consistent?
The design is clean, perhaps too clean. It has that pristine, clinical feel, like that dental office I am going to in a few hours. Your website is missing that human touch that makes you welcome. Everything looks perfect, too perfect, like the chap in the “About” page (by the way, you’ll notice how that sheet of paper on the left of his desk miraculously doesn’t even bend).
The headers of the internal pages are too high. That means the actual content starts almost halfway down the page.
In Maintenance, when clicking on the “Choose Plan” button, the contact page doesn’t preselect the plan I choose.
I know you’re asking about the visual aspect, but a native speaker should review some translations in Spanish and French. “Bienvenue dans votre Avenir Numérique”, sounds strange, as well as “Encuentro & Alineación”, “Alineación” is used for a car’s wheels, not for a website.
Tighten the positioning above the fold. “Van website tot webapp” is broad. You’ll get more qualified leads if you answer one question instantly: who is this for?
Like: “voor kleine bedrijven”, “voor campings & hospitality”, “voor ondernemers die zelf content willen beheren”, etc.
Make the primary CTA more specific than “Begin Nu”. It’s a bit vague. People hesitate when the next step is unclear. Consider something that sets expectation:
“Plan een gratis kennismaking”
“Vraag een offerte aan”
“Bekijk pakketten”
Consistency of voice (“ik” vs “ons”, and “u/uw” vs more casual). In the hero copy you say “ik”, but the button says “ons werk”. That creates a tiny trust wobble: is this a solo freelancer or a team? Pick one and align everything.
CaminoWeb appears twice quite early. If CaminoWeb is a niche offer, it may confuse general business visitors (“Is this site only for Camino stuff?”). Two ways to fix it:
Add a clear label like “Specialisatie” / “Voor Camino-accommodaties”, or
Push it slightly lower and keep the homepage more general, with CaminoWeb as a strong secondary path.
Add proof where decisions happen (above the fold / just under services). Right now it’s mostly claims. A small band of trust signals can lift conversion a lot:
2–3 client logos or “X+ projecten”
1 short testimonial
1–2 outcomes (“sneller live”, “beter vindbaar”, “makkelijk te beheren”)
Your design is clean and easy to navigate, which is a good foundation. The layout feels professional, but you could add a bit more visual depth with stronger section contrast, slightly larger headings, or subtle background variations to break up the page.
You might also look at how other simple sites use spacing and typography to add personality without clutter.
Congrats, your site looks clean and professional, which is a great foundation, but right now it leans very minimal, so a few small touches could make it feel more alive without breaking your style. Thanks
Hi there, congrats on launching your web development business!
I took a look at your website, and you’ve got a solid foundation, clean layout, clear structure, and good readability.
That said, I understand what you mean by it feeling a bit “bald.” One thing that could really help is adding more visual hierarchy and contrast. For example, you could introduce stronger accent colors for calls-to-action, slightly larger headings, or more spacing between sections to let the content breathe.
You might also consider adding subtle visuals like icons, illustrations, or light background variations to break up large text areas while keeping the style consistent. Small animations or hover effects could also add some life without making the site feel cluttered.
OWDT: Contrast, improving contrast in typography, colors, and section separation can instantly make a design feel more engaging and intentional.
