Are Directory Submissions worthy? What is the actual use of Directory Submissions?
Are you talking about a social networking site or a general one?
General directory submission are not very useful, but if directories are related to your site, you must do it. Also high PR directories are good.
I haven’t used directories too much lately. It’s difficult to find one that’s good since there’s an inflation of many small PR weak directories. I try focus more on leaving links on forums and blogs, it seems to do a better job for me than directories.
I guess appearing in dmoz can still be quite useful, but it’s all but impossible to get in. Directories in general seem a bit old hat. There are more meaningful and productive ways to promote your site.
It really depends. Directory submission can only be worthy if you submit your links and get listed to authority, established web directories. Links from PR0 won’t give you any link value.
Thanks for all your suggestions.
bulk directory submission does not bring any value of late. it is better if you submit your directories which are relevant to your site and have a decent Google page rank. There are also certain paid directories having good PR, where you can put your links.
Thanks George.
