Social media can be used to increase the traffic of a website if the traffic of a website increases than the page ranking of the website also increases and the website become visible in the search engine searching. To increase the business of a company, the company optimize their websites with seo. If the website users increases, the business also increases.
Traffic has no effect on either PageRank (which is based solely on backlinks) or SERPs. How would a search engine even know how much traffic your site is getting?

Google does not use analytics information in ranking a site, so I ask again, how would any search engine know how much traffic a site is getting?
Those approaches, if done carefully and well, might improve traffic, but again, hey will have no direct effect on SEO. Links which you can place yourself are regarded as of little worth, and may fall foul of guidelines on link schemes.

Additionally, most reputable sites - including most social media, which is the topic under discussion here - follow guidelines and mark such links as nofollow, so they will be disregarded by search engines.
As I said, they will not increase ranking in SERPs. Domain Authority is simply a metric created by Moz to indicate how well they estimate a site might perform in SERPs; it, too, has no effect on actual results.
I agree that earned links - those where other people have chosen to link to your content because of its quality - are useful, but at this point, we seem to have wandered away from the topic at hand, which is about social media, not SEO.
