A client has found a template they are interested in using for their site. I’ve never actually worked with a purchased template. Usually start them from scratch.
The template they are interested in has “flash” elements in it. I have never actually worked with Flash.
Do I need a background in flash to use this template? Or do templates make it easy to incorporate your pictures etc without Flash knowledge??
You might have to see the template first to know for sure, but I expect it would require some Flash knowhow. I was just sent a template the other day with Flash in it–including the navigation menu! O dear, bad idea. (If someone has Flash disabled, they get no nav at all!)
The template had some simple features for changing the title and links of the navbar, but that was it. Any further mods required Flash knowledge.
You could just replicate the Flash elements with HTML and CSS, I suppose, although you can’t necessarily replicate the functionality. The template I was sent had little icons flying all over the place.
Lots of flash templates these days make it really easy to modify elements via text files that are then pulled in. Some don’t though, so you’d probably want to suss it out first.
