I am in web designing as a learner for some time and have and idea of many things like drupal and php, but i never did anything for flash. I just dont like it. But now i have a big event in my college where researchers around the country will present their papers and i have make a system in flash. It will be for showing the intro and generating the listing of the papers, like and index and all that is going inside a cd, not the web. So i have to make sure that it looks good and have absolutely no bugs. They have asked me to use trendy flash for this, just a suggestion from them…
Now i have a little idea about all this as i know working on RAD tools for other languages and i know it will be done smoothly. But i want to make it great. So, any suggestions on which software should i work, where should i get templates/ideas and anything else i should know…
If you do a search for flash intro maker you’ll probably come up with a few wizard driven options. Or you could just buy an xml driven template off of activeden for a couple bucks.
I tried swishmax but i think its still too advanced for me…
Can you tell me where to find readymade flash intro templates and some tool or tutorial on how to modify them…
SWiSHMax does have a wide range of templates, but if you have absolutely no knowledge in how to use such a powerful tool, you would do well to reconsider your idea of using Flash. Flash is not really intended to be a beginners tool, it’s become as complex and “fully-featured” as many server-side scripting languages. Going into a professional project with no knowledge of the development environment will lead to a lot of issues. My advice would be to do a HTML / CSS / JavaScript CD based system that works locally - Using a template won’t eliminate the complex requirements to tweak and configure the thing - and very few templates come with detailed instructions. Most templates of any kind expect you to be proficient enough in a language to do what’s needed.
If you have absolutely no background knowledge of Flash, I recommend SWiSHMax, it’s not only a great product (that’s MUCH cheaper than Adobe’s product), it removes all the excess fluff and sticks to what it’s good at, producing Flash content which requires a bit of interactivity and / or animation.
