Tell me about your Blogging Income/Traffic Journey

I started a few years ago and don’t regret the time put in. The residual income is very nice. Its a lot easier to have very short blog posts with smartly placed banners, and target the less computer elite (Programming advice will get less clicks because they are usually smart towards all this stuff and avoid ads). Doing that is better than long interesting posts, with ads kind of scattered because users are less inclined to click. Obviously your niche should be interesting, but it should be broken up into a lot of smaller segments, like 2 or 3 paragraphs max.

Adsense pays well, it seems to keep growing over time. 80% of it depends on you niche + traffic. The rest depends on your ad placement (in my opinion). I have tried AdBrite but they pay nothing compared to AdSense, for me anyways.

So I take it you have an alternative to adsense for generating revenue. If it is not a business secret can you please shed more light on the alternatives ?

"I’ve been reading and doing some blogging off and on for the last year or so…finally found something I really enjoy blogging on and started a fan page last year which has a few thousand fans now without any real marketing at all.

Already mentioned in earlier posts - affiliate marketing. Also please make sure you read my clarification on AdSense.

3$ / day is better then nothing.
Also you will have to look for statistics. They say that at about 100 visitors you will have a sale.
Lot’s of people visit sites for their content. What does this site offer? - this is the questions WHICH is different:
I wonder what ads does this site offer!?
Also it’s like this … if I like the content or I come often to a blog … I might click ads ( interested for me ) with the idea: I like your work and I want to pay you this way.

I started blogging in 2009 using the Blogger platform. I concentrate more on content as I was not yet aware of what SEO is at that time. After three months of continuous work, my blogs got promoted to PR2 and the traffic increased about 100% as I could remember.

Today, I am maintaining 5 websites already and 3 of them are blogs. I am earning an average of $4 per day in Adsense and also from direct advertising where I get $100 bucks in some good ad space for a six months contract.

With your question about Adsense, maybe its about the niche. Earnings in Adsense depends highly on various markets. For example, health, weight loss and finance niche are all high paying niche. Maybe that is the problem. Also, try to experiment on ad styles, it really works for me.

I have no regrets in blogging and I a very happy that I ventured into this business. I plan to continue blogging as I can as this is a great way to make money online.

3$ a day isn’t better than nothing if you’re spending any real time on it. It’s not about how much you make, its about how much you could make with the next best option.

Unfortunately for the content farmers and get-rich-quick schemers out there, there is no blog magic. If your posts are legitimately interesting to an audience, people will read it and you might be able to get some traffic revenue out of advertising. If all you’re thinking about is how to spit out content or maximize your SEO then you’ll reap the garbage that you sow.

Hi Xena !

SEO is not at all related to sales at all as far as I know. Both goes in different directions. SEO is only for bringing you to the top to the search engines. For sales you have to do online marketing for which there are companies which can offer you the service. Try working hard taking the two points into consideration and I’m sure you’ll get to the top soon.

I have recently start blogging and didn’t promote it properly just sharing it on social media sites but didn’t get many hits so can anyone tell me how i can promote my blog?

Hi, friend I agree to your recent post Of Course you can earn money without doing anything except bogging just open up a blog on blogger and add ad sense which is basically a Google add-on which puts adverts that are in relation with your blog and if people press it you get money i would say get a .com domain in blogger instead of .blogspot.com as it would be more visited and more popular on Google.

Thanks,
