Steve Jobs has passed away

Steve Jobs is Dead at 56. I don’t think Apple will keep it’s status IMO.

It’s a sad, sad day for the tech world as we remember one of the greatest innovators in modern history. The outpouring of comments across the social web makes it obvious just how influential he truly was.

For those who have not seen it yet, there is a brief, but thoughtful statement on the apple site along with a place to send your own comments to directly - http://www.apple.com/stevejobs/

I was just going to post a thread about it myself and found this one. It’s very sad, beyond describable, and at first I couldn’t believe it. Feels like a family member died. It’s nice to see all the beautiful things people are writing abut this legendary genius on Twitter.

As @maddox wrote:

“I’ve never really felt or understood what ‘end of an era’ means.”

Well, maybe now we understand.

R.I.P. Steve Jobs. I can say with absolute certainty that you will never be forgotten.

How do you think, after Steve Jobs death, will the iOS keep the leadership, or Android will finaly go to the top?
Altogether what do you think about apple future without Steve? Will it change ?

Mark Zuckerberg
(CEO of facebook) Steve, thank you for being a mentor and a friend. Thanks for showing that what you build can change the world. I will miss you.
Google Larry Page:
He was a great man with incredible achievements and amazing brilliance. He always seemed to be able to say in very few words what you actually should have been thinking before you thought it. His focus on the user experience above all else has always been an inspiration to me.
Obama:
Steve was among the greatest of American innovators – brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it.

Bill Gates: The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come.
For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely.

The negative feedback received by Apple from their last press conference on their latest Iphone 4S was sure an example of drawbacks without Steve Jobs to save the wrong moves done by his company men.

Thats a bad news for apple, he had built a great quality of products

“I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did.” - Steve Jobs

I just read it on the news, and I’m shocked - I knew he was ill, and that he had stepped down because of this. but I didn’t expect this to happen that soon.
He had a long struggle which he fought so brave, right until the end.

truly an inspiring genius

found out about it this morning; well all i have to say is that humanity lost one of the greatest minds in the IT industry.

liek i have said in a recent post it was something i was expecting for some time now. i am sad although i don’t generally use any Apple technology. but let’s face it, he was a great person that was revolutionizing everything :frowning:

I’m surprised at how moved I am. It’s always sad to see a creative like this expire—especially when it seems too soon. Hopefully he has created an environment at Apple that will allow new ingenuity to flourish.

It’s a pretty powerful statement that a website as influential as Apple’s has stripped down its entire home page to this:

Quite true, Mike! It’s nice to have a spiritual persective here.

I have a different perspective on his death, then most. I won’t share, yet.

I was dumbstruck when I heard the news, not that it was a huge surprise having seen his last public appearance. Whether one likes Apple or not, he’s done a lot for the tech world. I’ve always liked the brand, by and large.

@Ralph: Me too. I didn’t think I’d react emotionally to it, but it does affect me quite a bit.

R.I.P.

R.I.P Steve Jobs. I knew that he had stood down from his previous role at Apple back in August but didn’t expect him to pass away so soon. I had expected him to be at Apple for many years to come. The IT industry has been robbed of an inspiring person.

:frowning:

I do wonder how Apple will fare now, he was a big influence and obviously came up with alot of brilliant innovations and products. I have to say, there wasn’t much time between him leaving the company and passing away, I guess he must have knew. Very sad.

R.I.P Steve

R.I.P. Steve.

It is sad to see such an innovator pass away furthermore when he was so young and if he could have done so much more.

Regarding Apple, well, maybe they have learnt one or two things from Steve Jobs. Wether you like it or not, he did bring a lot of ideas and innovation. The future will tell.

RIP Steve.

It will be interesting to see how Apple copes with this. It had long been regarded that without Steve Jobs, Apple was just another corporate face
