SEO Experts' help required about my new SEO campaign

Hello SEO gurus,

I did some research and found a keyword with appr. 90,600 (Broad) and 4,500 (Exact) global monthly searches and low competition. Registered a domain name with exact keyword and installed wordpress, added a few articles, a page with an article on keyword is set as my homepage.

About the competition:
Using Market Samurai I got these results:

  1. ehow.com is at number 1 with PR5 (27 Backlinks to the page and 0 edu or gov backlinks) Keyword is in URL
  2. Youtube video with keyword is at number 2 with appr. 1,50,000 views, PR4. (with 0 Backlinks to the page)
  3. Youtube video with keyword is at number 2 with appr. 10,000 views, PR 4 (with 20 backlinks)
  4. Then there is a website with PR3 and around 150 backlinks, keyword is in URL, not in domain.

All the other sites are with PR4, PR3, PR2 and PR1 with very few backlinks or no backlinks at all.
2 of them are forums with question related to my keyword asked and the thread is there got ranked in Google.

Keeping in mind I have EXACT keyword domain, how much time and effort is requir

I found it can take a month or two before a site starts to perform in SERPs, i think it can be a good idea to sign up to for google webmaster tools account so you can see any reported crawl issues.

But having the string domain will definitely help but getting some inbound links is still important for a high ranking.

Well I added my site to Google Webmaster tools and my site is indexed in Google now. But its bouncing, I am building links gradually from related niches, but my backlinks are not showing up yet, hope they will take some time to index. I am new to SEO and this is my very first campaign, I am really curios to see my site at first page of Google.

Frankly, I think you’re going about this the wrong way. Just because you have few pages optimised for a competitive keyword, that doesn’t mean that you’ll get quality visitors - or that those visitors will convert into customers. You’re clearly looking for a mechanical means of getting a high search engine ranking rather than developing the best possible experience for your potential customers.

It’s been said here many times, but what you really should be doing is creating lots of solid content - unique, interesting information that people will want to read, and that will encourage them to visit your site regularly and tell their friends about. Just throwing a few pages into Wordpress isn’t going to do that.

Mike

As I have said earlier, I am new to SEO. Just testing my campaign to see how everything works. After getting one of my keyword ranked in SERP I will concentrate on unique contents, as I am bad at content creation, after getting a bit of revenue from my ranked website I will hire the content writer for one of my other campaign.

How long it will take? Nobody knows. It shouldn’t be too long if your competition is really low… or it may be never. The thing is that even if you competition is low, if they do it better than you do, you may not reach success.

You’ve tried to be as targeted as possible (keyword-wise) but… also about your public?

Are your competitors regular bloggers? Do they post quality articles? Do they use other means of promotion, contact, interaction (facebook, Twitter, social media)? Do they use offline promotion tools or ads? Do they use online advertising? And their traffic?

Too many factors may be affecting their ranking and indirectly your own. That’s why long term commitment is such a strong factor. Only those who persist and are for the long run, always high quality, stay and are consistent number ones (if not for one term, for another)

You do have one thing under your belt. Your site is new.

Google does rank higher those sites that have been for a long time… but since your site is new, it will give you the benefit of the doubt and give you a higher rank for a start, as if your site would have been with high quality posting for a while instead of being brand new. If after a short period of time, Google sees no changes or drops in content, your rank will drop.

I said a higher rank meaning higher than what it would normally be given to a site with almost no content and not new, not a direct number one

That rank could still be on the result page 3525

Currently I am concentrating on building backlinks from quality blogs, article writing and forum posting. Also I am testing different tweaks to check what happens to my rankings. I am gonna a lot of things from this campaign, I will concentrate on the quality as well as the quantity of contents in the future projects.

In my experience… I gain sales when my site almost 3 months old. I did all SEO quality backlinks as good as I can get. After 4th months, Im now starting to gain sales.

Your answer doesn’t make any sense.

When there are youtube videos on top, then it probably is not too competitive niche, just wondering what is your monetization method. If you know what you are doing then #1 position is no wonder, still Google determines it, not our efforts or linkbuilding.

I am using Google Adsense as a source of income from my site yet, I will add some CB products as soon as I get enough traffic and top rankings.
