Photoshop question

sometimes when I’m using a filter (usu smart sharpen) or levels, or saturate (in Hue/Sat/Brightness dialog) I do my settings, then when I close the dialog, the effect kind of fades… it’s very annoying… I thought it might be a memory problem; I liberated memory by closing other apps, but problem persists… (and I can always see how much memory I have, by looking at Activity Monitor (am on a mac); I set it up so on the Activity Monitor icon in the dock always shows how much memory I have…

PS CS5, mac 10.6.8…

thank you very much…

And what problem is that? Running out of memory? Perhaps if you look into your performance slider regarding memory, put the slider up, but not too far otherwise other software that you are running might crash

Sorry, I fail to understand when you say it fades. I wonder if you apply your filters directly on the photo or if you use a filter layer. I assume the later. If it is a layer, I assume that you’ve checked that opacity is at 100%.

I don’t use a filter layer… when I want to apply a filter I copy the layer, than after applying the filter, to fine-tune it, I play with the layer opacity (have never used filter layers, this is my method…;~)

at any rate, the issue is (this happens intermittently, i.e., not always):

open Hue/Sat/Brightness dialog, increase saturation, when close the dialog, the saturation decreases, from what it was when I the dialog was still open

thank you…

oh blast it, I wanted to post video… no video format is accepted…

(none that I saw on the list of accepted file extensions…)

oh well…:frowning:

You can embed videos hosted elsewhere, like Youtube, for example.
Just paste in the Share URL.

awesome… thank you…

here you can clearly see how the saturation effect I set in hue/Sat/Brightness dialog is reverted once I close dialog…

PS: I have to be signed so you have access to this video? even in YouTube I can’t view it if I’m not signed in… oh brother… (???) ok, I’ll have to stay in signed for the time being then…

This video is private

That means no one can watch, other than you while signed in.

You will need to change its setting to either Unlisted or Public for anyone else to see it.
If it’s unlisted, it won’t appear on your channel or in search, but others can see it if they have the URL.

I went to settings under “info & settings”, it says “public”…

but I clicked on a link “publish”… hopefully that’ll do it…

thank you…

were you able to see this video?

thank you…
