Online Credit Card Processing for Just One Event

Part of this is just to verify what I’ve been reading so far on the forums.

What is the simplest, easy to set up method for adding a form that can take a credit card number securely and process it without leaving the site.

This is a one time non-recurring event.

The only three options that I’m really seeing are PayPal, 2CheckOut, and Google Checkout.

Thanks -

Most of them are the same… I never set up a payapl, so I don’t know it’s options. I know I hated sites that were like “To continue your purchase you must have a paypal account.” Up til about a year ago 100% of the time I would leave. With auth.net there isn’t anything to join. They are the secure middle man…

There is also authorize.net… I only know of it because my ex girlfriend works there. They came before paypal.

I set up a payment form in 10 minutes.

Are you asking about auth.net or generally?

Oh sorry, just in general… without any payment service.

Bottom line is, I just want a quick, dirty and safe solution to process credit card information with the least amount of hassle for the end user (and myself considering this is my first attempt).

Say absolute worst case scenario… the client had to take the email w/ CC info & then process the number remotely.

Is that just straight up suicide? Can that portion of the form be fully protected?

Or is something like PayPal the minimum of what should be suggested?

I don’t know what is involved with setting up PayPal, but the end user may use a PayPal account, or PayPal can just process the credit card.

I would assume that the vendor would need to have an account with any credit card processor just because they (the card processor) would need to know where to credit the funds.
