I want to accept many payment methods in my store, to provide a choice to my customers. Let them pay with just their card, or PayPal, Google Checkout, Amazon account, Moneybookers, AlertPay, etc — whatever they have.
Is there a single company that would accept all those many methods of payment and give me the money? A so-called Meta Payment Processor?
I’ve personally seen only an example of CC + PayPal (2Checkout does that).
Any hints on the subject will be greatly appreciated. :inspector:
You’ve actually just listed a bunch of different payment processors. 2checkout offers an expensive solution - 5.5% of Sale Amount. What is your shopping cart software?
Most carts you’ll have a gateway to your standard merchant account for your basic amex, visa, mastercard, discover. Then you can also activate paypal and google. If you really need all those payment types, you’ll either need software that lets you enable all those payment types, create your own code, or use 2checkout, the closest to what you want.
What you wanna first is find a cart which has offers all or most of these payment mods right out of the box, and then follow the steps to activate the modules.
No there isn’t, simply because that could constitute a possible security risk, allowing one processor to access funds in a huge selection of other merchant accounts (almost like a daisy chain for potential fraud). Your best bet as said is to sign up for each service individually and activate the modules for the stores in your CMS (or link to the payment page for each service on the site). I would only have PayPal, Google Checkout and Amazon (purely as their the most trusted).
PS: All of them allow paying by credit or debit card.
