No Adobe CS5 articles or stories

Why are there no stories on mondays release of Adobe CS5? It is the biggest web software release this year and yet there is absolutely nothing about this on the front page?

Probably because most of the news is driven against Adobe such as their decision to keep price hiking everyone outside the USA… that and they have beef with Apple who are refusing to allow Flash onto their iDevices (and I’m firmly siding with Apple on refusing to allow that technology to lurch itself into the platforms).

I understand about flash but really is that a reason to boycott any review or articles about Adobe?

If sitepoint hates adobe’s latest release surely they could just write an article why they think CS5 sucks? Or an article comparing it to other software.

This is after all a web design forum and whether you love or hate adobe they do make the most widely used software for the web design and development industry, adobe is to the web, what microsoft office is to the office.

I didn’t mean to imply that’s why they were doing it, I’ve no idea why SP haven’t reported on it… I just think the bad stories about Adobe are clouding over the release web-wise. It’s almost like how the benefits of Vista were blown over by the separate issue of driver shortages. Perhaps most people are getting used to the new suite before they start reporting on it… after all, those products are very big pieces of software with a lot of complex features.

Or maybe they cant get their hands on a copy to test for themselves?

The flash war between adobe and apple is pretty interesting, especially since apple’s iPhone has now pretty much taken over the mobile web browser market.

With iPhone and now the iPad Apple will now have enough clout to push internet developers in general away from flash and towards html5.

Maybe this will be enough to push Adobe into finally fixing flash for OSX and Iphone OS4?

Lets hope Apple ends up having the same effect on Flash with html5 that Firefox did with Microsofts Internet Explorer finally being updated from 6 to 7, and then 8?

I’m sure SitePoint could purchase a copy, their not exactly a non-profit organisation.

Also: I doubt Apple would allow Flash on their devices even if they fixed all the issues with it, the negotiations turned rather bitter.

How old are you Alex?

I’m 26 NetNerd, though I’m not sure what my age has to-do with me feeling a bit grumpy at Adobe :stuck_out_tongue:
