New Adsense user and seeing results after the first month

Im totally new to adsense. Beyond reading a few articles and youtube ‘instructional’ where everyone photoshops their weekly revenues, this is my first foray into adsense. But so far it seems to be going well.

The site was launched early aug so far this month of sept is averaging 2$ a day. Well below my goals but acceptable considering the age of the site. Around 1,000 search visits a week. Theres 700 original and unique posts on the site so far and that number increases 10 to 15 per day. Were trying to do more and release them on the weekends but thatll come later. 70% of the time they are articles about 500 words long. other times its super long posts, something like two paragraphs or just a picture.

is it our content? yep. im looking through the posts now and not seeing any press releases, wiki entries, or some tiny copy-paste-link entry. i dont think i’ve ever seen something that isn’t ours go up but im not seeing all the content everyday so in a world of possibilities that might be one but if so its incredibly minor.

theres been maybe a handful of days where sometimes goes wrong. like today we had an error with the site and had to focus on that for the entire day so we only squeezed in 5 posts ( and they were pictures, ugh). but i could count on my hand that number of times thats happened.

Theres been no real effort to generate back links through article submissions to other blogs or anything like that. But then again I wouldnt know where to start.

I tried using link ads but they just didnt look appropriate at all even when we matched the colors.

So there ya go. Just kinda throwing my name into the hat here at site point and i’ll be reading through the forums and articles so I avoid asking already answered questions. Im also at digital point under the same name.

Great job on getting $2 a day, but what would happen if you didn’t submit any articles for the day? Would you have no earnings?

good, because when you’re new to adsense usually the first goal should be to do $1 a day, you’re already at $2 so your next goal is to get $100 per month so you get paid month after month.
I’m sure you’ll get there very quickly with no turning back, because your site is new, google is actually sending you less visitors than it could with the content you have. The term for that is google sandbox. But after a while this goes and your earnings will go up.

I make a point about posting articles many times a day because it builds a library of posts. Within a month from now we will have nearly 1000 posts. Thats a lot of indexable content and really helps increase the traffic to our site. Also when we maintain the consistency and quality of new postings, google robots and our readers are more apt to revisit our site.

It really wouldn’t kill us to miss a days of content. I doubt our pagerank, keyword rankings, etc would drop dramatically because of 24 hours of no new content. Not that they are that high to begin with, but its not a habit I want to start.

If we don’t post for a day i can’t say it wouldnt decrease our current earnings. From what I’ve seen on analytics, our search visitors are seeing content that is about a week or so old. So our earnings consistently come from our library of material, not our most current content.

That said, if we don’t post, we loose out on future earnings, the total value of the article for the lifetime of the site, and whatever comments or referring traffic that may come from the article.

So to answer your question if we dont post every day we mess it up for our future selves.
