Multiple domains, Sub-domains or Folders

SEO is a very important part of any website.

One strong decision, which is incredibly hard to reverse, is whether to have sub-domain, folders or multple domains. Search engines in my opinion look for text which is prominent, and this will strongly count in the SERP. So if you have a blog with several sections (the ones I proposed are Home, Web Design, SEO, Tutorials, Marketing, Reviews) then it might be good to have:

I use WP as my choice in CMS, I might use Drupal in the future, but as it stands I am happy plowing on with WP. I could achieve something like this with a sub-domain plug-in. I’ve been experimenting with the Sub-domain Network options in WordPress. The choice is how much does this actually count in our SEO. In my opinion, humble as it maybe, search engines are still fairly dumb. I’ve seen a handful of people trick search engines simply by using sub-domains or multiple domains with the same design just different content.

Maybe in the future SE need to consider the CSS code and see if any sites have the same styling codes in order to rank their importance. Good bey Mr. Template website.

I would like to know how the domain names, sub-domains, and mutliple domains affect their SEO. Which path should I take?

SEO is very hard to completely define, any assumptions made above are just that. I don’t have any definitive answers to your SEO.
