I use PC because it is mostly common hardware platform and GNU/Linux because it has more tools and is more stable and faster than Windows. Additionally the web environment is much closer to GNU/Linux than Windows. By the way the platform is only a tool and personal preference.

Um…how so? Both Mac OS and Windows have pretty much the same choice of graphic software, aka. Photoshop. Well here is the truth. Their is no better at anything. Their is no best, none of these words, better, best, etc exist. They are all opinionated lies. A computer is a tool, it should be used as a tool, not as some religious idol.
One is worth more to an employer when they keep an open mind about technology. I do not dismiss technology becomes it comes from a certain vendor. Or because it has a certain licensing structure (closed/open source). As such, I can sit in front of any machine and learn its insides and outs in a few minutes, whether it be Linux, Mac, or Windows. I’m worth more to my employer because I’m promiscuous with my technology. I don’t hold it as a religion.

I think Mac is sheer hype. It is just a fancy thing to possess. When it comes to real job, PC’s are far better. Pc’s are great for a casual user. With platform of windows you can find infinite numbers of applications and programs. Pc can fit the needs for every single person.
I use a PC. Macs are too expensive and most of my developer tools, like Visual Studio, just will not work on a Mac. Electronics are not an investment in my opinion, they are just like cars. As soon as they hit the shelf, they are out-dated. I choose to invest my money in other places. If I only spend $300-$400 on a PC. I can use it for a year or two and then throw it away. Also, iMacs are such a pain to upgrade. Not only are the systems expensive, but everything is expensive. Even a basic mouse for a Mac will cost 5 or 6 times the cost of a PC mouse.
The sales person always tries to tell me that the $2,000+ spent on a iMac is an investment because the system will last for at least 3 years. My response to that is, yes, but if I buy a PC for $400, and replace it with a brand new machine every year, at the end of 3 years, I’ve still only spend $1,200 and I got a new machine every year. And also, by the time that iMac is more than a couple years old, who cares? All of the hardware will be completely out-dated anyway.
I just make sure I always install a high end video card and get extra RAM for Photoshop and Visual Studio.
sorry that was so brief i use pc 7ultimate and mac pro in the office both have the same specs but the interface of the os it seems that on mac it is faster, and other than that i can program more shortcuts on mac. yeah i also agree that there is no best option, if it works for you then thats the right option. also i dont worship apple i just like mac pro not imac not air, not ipad. i like macbookpro since i use it, the others are just too much
You can use pretty much any mouse with a Mac.
what i can say is what ever works for you that is the weapon of choice but if according to what the poll suggest it would be pc.
I will chose PC over Mac because most of the software I used runs on PC.
For me,the probleme is the price, The MAC is very very expensive !
I go with Mac. Though it is expensive, I love Mac because I have less experience using Windows.
Friends i am using windows pc for web development
Using windows PC and galaxy tab when outside of office.
Windows PC is good for me and my sister. We never saw mac and I heard it is very costly.

ParkinT - Makes sense. I was going to switch to Linux but programming is enough headaches. I don’t need a OS to add to that, although I could I don’t want more headache 
I don’t know if I will update to Windows8, I like Windows7.
Definitely Windows. I like the ease of use that Mac’s offer but I find PC gives more control.
