Hi
I am in website development for over a year now. But most of the clients are also asking for promotion of their websites by using SEO. I have no knowledge regarding SEO. Can anybody suggest and help me on this issue. Just can’t give you any address of mine.
If you can’t get an idea from reading the FAQ’s, or searching and reading the abundant amount of material on the web, then you should admit to your clients that you can’t offer SEO as a service and try to find a reputable firm to direct them to.
Hi Jessica,
As you are into website development so I think by default you need to learn some website marketing strategies, both go hand in hand. As you are ready with the website, do some simple on-page stuffs like
On-page Optimization
Keyword Research
Title Tag Optimization
Robots.txt Optimization
W3c Validation
Working on HTML Source Code
Image & Hyperlink Optimization
Header Tag Optimization
Canonicalization
Google, Yahoo & MSN Sitemap Creation
Off-page Stuffs Include
Local Search Website Optimization
Local Search Engine Submission
hCard Integration
Updating Pages for Local Search
Content Optimization
Website Content Writing/submission
Blog Writing/submission
Article Writing/submission
Press Release Writing/submission
PowerPoint Presentation Submission
Video Submission
Creating promotional pages on hubpages.com, squidoo.com
RSS Feeds
Link Development
Directory Submissions
Social Bookmarking
Link Requests to Related Sites
However these SEO strategies takes almost 6-8 months to increase visibility on the internet. To build brand name or reputation building you can try your hands in Social Media Marketing like Increasing Facebook Contacts, Follow ups on Twitter, My space, Blog writing & submission. Article writing & submission is one of the strongest web marketing strategies.
Hope this will help
Regards.

Not really. Most reputable forums have nofollow on all user-generated content, so you get no link juice from them (although you may get some direct traffic, which may in turn lead to more links). Most forums that have dofollow are “bad neighbourhoods”, the sort of sites that have zero or negative PR, so you won’t get any goodness from them.
Even if you do find that rarity - a good, reputable site that allows Google to spider all links from its forum pages - the chances are that there will be hundreds and hundreds of outbound links, so any trace of link juice is spread so thinly that it will have as near to no effect as makes no odds.
There is no exact process. There are lots of steps that you can take. Key ones are:
- Make sure all your code is semantically correct (eg heading tags used appropriately)[]Use meta descriptions to give a snippet about each page[]Make sure your site makes sense with images, styles and scripts turned off, because that’s how search engines will see it
And if all else fails, read the FAQ in this forum again, because it’s full of really good stuff.
I would disagree that rank doesn’t matter. Years ago, people didn’t expect search engines to give them perfect results every time, and would go through the SERPs until they found what they were looking for. Even if your site didn’t appear until the fourth page, you had a chance of people finding it.
But now, because Google is so good at giving the best page in the first couple of results, people don’t generally look at the second page, they often don’t even look below the fold. For the overwhelming majority of surfers, if your site isn’t in the top five, it might as well not exist, because they will never find it.
Yes, results can be geotargeted, and maximising the impact of that is an important part of SEO. Personalised results are only likely to come into play for people who have already visited your site once. You may decide that you want to target specific segments, such as people from a particular country, and so you may be looking at your ranking in particular circumsnances, but ultimately, ranking is the first metric that counts - if you don’t get the ranking, you won’t get the hits.
Hi
I have already searched a lot of sites, but nobody seems to be very clear about what is the exact process that I have to follow. To you know any sites that will help me out on this regard.
You can generate a huge traffic here- forums! Nowadays there are some forum sites that provides a Dofollow link through your signatures. It is great way to increase backlinks and some traffic.
Ajax, CSS and JavaScript have nothing to do with SEO, unless you implement them badly and prevent search engines from seeing your content.
All true but not quite what I was saying.
Ranking doesn’t matter in that firstly I could get you a number 1 ranking tomorrow for a phrase but that doesn’t mean it’ll make you money, and then secondly because we don’t all see the same thing so it’s a very difficult metric to measure and it’s not always meaningful.
It does matter in that if you’re not on page one, and preferably in the top 5, then you won’t get clicks, sure. Given a choice though between a couple of number 1 rankings and 20 page one/two rankings, I’ll take the second option anyday. It’s much more resilient to algo changes, you haven’t got all your eggs in one basket and it presents more opportunities to find the good phrases and then concentrate your efforts on improving them.
With just a unique content with a proper and relevant keywords, links to your targeted keywords and site and doing some link building like blog directory submissions, blog commenting, social bookmarkings, article submissions, promoting your site at some social networking like Twitter or Facebook.
Your website is easily promoted by search engine optimization techniques; there are two ways on page optimization and off page optimization.
Try On page optimization is increase the visitors in organic. To put good Meta tags, unique content with relevant keywords, presents of Al tags. and do link buildings .mainly forum postings with Good LSI, Do follow Social book marking, Blog posting, Blog commenting and Article Submission.
when you developing your site, following steps for SEO friendly:
- use Ajax & CSS & java script
- use H1 to H6
- content should be in unique
- site design is very very important
I would disagree with this definition as it’s been a long time since your ranking position actually mattered. Personalised and geotargeted search results means that different people are seeing different results. So, I would define SEO as:
“Increasing the quality and volume of traffic to your website from search engines.”
In order to score high you need good quality of content and fair amount of keywords. On top of that, you might want to trade links with others and build up your page rank. I think that is the least that you can do.
Search Engine optimization is the process of promoting and optimizing your website to make it search engine friendly and rank high in search engine results for the specific targeted keywords. The process includes on page and offpage optimization. Just do a quick search on Google and you will find lot of tutorials for it.
Try these it might help you
