There are many books teaching writing, you can look at them for some basic knowledge, but need pratice and hard working to increase the skill.

As Nicholas said, it’s a long process. People in English speaking countries take 14 years of english classes (if they graduate from college). The best method is as Nicholas said.

I think your best bet is to read… a lot. Read as many English books as you can get your hands on. If you have a particular field you wish to write for, try to read lots of books in that area.

there are lots of ways,it depends your mother language, where do come from?

You can learn English with reading english books and oxford dictionary. Always watch the english movies. Talk with friends with English language.

I find movies to be the best choice to learn a new language from. You can also read books and maybe try an online course?

Well, I agree with the rest. Basically.

Personally I was raised in Sweden so we have about 12 years of English lessons behind us once we finish high school. Didn’t learn very much from those. Instead, I’ve learned most of my (according to some, very good) English by chatting internationally, reading and watching movies/TV, a lot, and having pretty much everything set to English language—phone, laptop etc. Plus, I’ve spent time working with people from all over.

So I guess what I’m saying is that I suggest taking every opportunity to learn and practice English writing (and speaking). It kind of becomes a habit after a while.

You can’t learn proper english without the help of tutor, so it would be the best option to go for a good english tutor.

Malarkey! You can learn proper English by listening to it, reading it, and using English resources to write it. We have a thread in this forum that can help you find those resources. Sure, hiring a tutor is an option but it isn’t essential. If you want to learn to speak English and have the money for a tutor, go get yourself a copy of English (either American or British) Rosetta Stone, which is a program used by government employees who need to learn other languages. Its price is way lower per month than what you would have to pay a tutor.

What is most important now is that you can learn to love writing in english. If you love what you do, you will continue to grow in this area. Adding all the writings I have created in Nearly 10 years online I surely have rich in the equivalent of many books. That is exciting to me and I hope you will find a reason to be excited too.

I been studying english since I was 10 years old. moved to america and lived there for 18 years and I still can write in english.
many native americans can not write proper english so it’s not an easy thing to do.

There are nuances to every language and English certainly has its share. I do agree that Rosetta Stone is good learning tool.

Reading English books/articles and watching English movies are good ways to learn the English language. You can polish your writing skills by practicing to write about a topic and having someone good at English check on it. You will improve as you go along, it really takes time.

As a content writer, my advice is to gather information from different sites and integrate together then start write with the idea that you have got finally from that. Its of course a good idea that i have practised and for that i have visited so many article directories like ezinearticles, articlesbase and so on. Also everyday i have started to use some words to make it to use frequently for future writings. My advice is to Learn some new words everyday.

you need nothing! only desire for beginning! advise you to read “sea wolf” by London. good book - describes his biography and carrer as writer.

Writing is a God gifted skill which needs not to learn English. English is the medium to convert your ideas and thinking in your mind. It can be any language and English is not specific to write good articles or contents. Learning can only polish this skill but not make a good writer.
To improve your writing skills and collect the required material, as described above you will have to read books, magazines, newspapers, explore internet, travell, consult other researchers etc.

If you love to write then you should also love reading. A good writer is a wide reader. Now, if you want to learn how to write in English, then you should start reading English books and articles as it helps you to widen your vocabulary. Also, you can also learn the different styles of the English writers and helps you to create your own style of writing. But of course if English is not your native language, yes it’s really difficult to write in English at first. The best thing you can do in this is to write something using your mother language first, then you can translate it in English after. If you’re having trouble with grammars, you can buy English Grammar books, use online grammar/spelling checker and join English fora. Attending English lesson is also helpful or ask somebody who is good in English to teach you and check your grammars. There are so many ways in which you can learn English, you just have to be motivated and pursue it. Good luck!

This is the best advice I have heard in this forum about learning to write in English when it is not your Mother tongue!

Too often, new writers are bent on the final copy when the first draft is more important. Writing it in your native language will help you be sure your thoughts are clear, concise, and well-formatted, which, I think, will make the translation to English much smoother.

you should read many articles, learning their writing methods. U also should note and remember beautiful expressions, then using them in your writing.i think u will good at writing.

Reading new paper or articles on the net can help you to improve your English. You can also try to rewrite the articles in your own way that you read. For better understanding, you can get them rectified by someone. This will help you in improving your English and as well as make sure that you are grammatically correct.
